As far as flights go, it all went smoothly. Train from Derby to London was very early 718am after the cheese and wine extravaganza (thanks Kieran for organising a great night, everyone seemed to tuck into the Sticky Bishop cheese after getting over the cheesy smell). Had lots of time at Heathrow to chill out before catching the virgin flight (their entertainment system is second to none). Living up to expectation, Tokyo Narita airport was so efficient that I cleared customs, collected my baggage and was on the spotlessly clean Narita express within 45 mins. Us Brits have a lot to learn! I've checked into the Toco Tokyo Heritage Hostel in Taito City. It's the loveliest little ryokan, very peaceful that you can't believe you're in Tokyo City.
