We are up to just over £400 raised so far, this is wonderful in such a short time. We are so encouraged that our friends and family are so generous and supportive. Our Dad has even been in touch with old friends and colleagues of our Mum, and many of them have kindly donated. It is very touching to have so much support. 12th April 2008 would have been our Mum's 60th birthday so we decided this was the day we would book the trip. We met up for some dinner and drinks then went back to book online. We booked with http://www.acrossthedivide.com on an Open Event, and after wrangling with the online booking form (which apparently is quite new), we registered and then went out for yet more alcohol. Steve is far too excited and is losing sleep even though it's 10 months away. He's even changed his desktop wallpaper to 16 different pictures of the Northern lights. I am just simply teriffied! 10 months of fundraising and training to go through before we even go on the trip so lots to do to keep my mind off it.... Caroline... read more
