Don't know if you will be venturing into Slovenia at some point... but of interest is a place called "Postojna Jama." These are caves with stalagmites and stalactites. Very interesting. This was part of the former Yugoslavia but now is in Slovenia. Just a thought. You can ask Ivana about this. Take care.... Danica

Hello once again. Thanks for your updates. I found them all very interesting. I had been to both Pula and Rovinj but never to Pazin. You continue to amaze me with your travels and stories. Keep up the good work. Our Croatian relatives (of sorts) are here now in the States, leaving on the 31st of August. They are from Icici (near Opatija). Did you see Opatija? Hello again.... loved, loved, loved all your recent entries (probably because they were all about Croatia)!! Anyway, my favorite was the one from Koprivnica. Sounded like all the folks I grew up with... eat... drink... be happy. The folks from Croatia did get their visas and will be coming sometime mid-August. We are anxious to see them. Take care. My cousin is still working on getting her relatives to the US from Croatia. The young adults, both university students, now need verification of such. Thanks for the update on your travels. You are really getting around. Good for you!! All is well in Tumwater. Weather is great. Best part of the year for us (well, you know that)!! One of my cousins is trying to get some of her family in Croatia here. It will be interesting to see if that occurs. I was sharing your experience in trying to get Ivana here. Hello once again. Wow... that is about all I can way about your entry on Belgrade!! You have more moxie that I would have in traveling to places unknown and getting into cars with people unknown. Travel safe (guess that is the mother in me). Looks like Belgrade uses the Cyrillic alphabet like the Russians do. Very interesting. You still need to get to the Istrian Peninsula to see Opatija and Pula. Take care... Dianne

You have captured the essence of what 25% of our foreign travel is like these days. You are becoming a seaseoned traveler! It is a miracle that you actually got your final flight. Last year we got stuck in Chicago on the way home from NYC and had to fly to Anchorage in order to get to Seattle so I could be there on time to start my on call in the morning. What doesn't kill you makes you stronger!
