Have you ever noticed that flying east takes so much less time, at least on the really long hauls. I didn't mind flying from Seoul to SFO as it was a bit over 7 hours but the trip back was 9! blast, they couldn't go the same way so they had to make it longer. not happy with this. As hubby dear is working rotational and I only get to see him every other month, it is time to make the "round world" journey as I want to meet him in different parts of the world but am just really, really tired of the long hauls back to where I started. After all that work to get out of the country in a big hurry because of the possibility of violence or being stuck in Honduras, nothing much happened during the time that I would have been there. The rest of my tour went back to the mainland, went to Copan, crossed the border into Guatemala without a problem and finished the tour. Ah, timing is everything. Current troubles and Central American passions during coups being well known for exploding, my tour group decided to skip going to Copan and get the heck out of Honduras. We were on Utila enjoying some diving and relaxing after sneaking out of the capital, Tegucigalpa, only about an hour before the roads were blockaded. Our tour leader thought he could get us back onto the mainland and to San Pedro Sula and out via a flight to Guatemala City. As the previous night he had stated going to the mainland was NOT a good idea, Corinne and I (a tour member from Switzerland) decided to head for Roatan and fly directly to the good ole U.S. of A.
