Hola from Melbourne! I have made it to my final destination of Melbourne and am safe and sound in a real house! Actually quite a nice 2 story flat with wood floors, and a great outdoor deck, and my very own private room with queen sized bed!! There was no bugs biting me at night, no one coming in late or early and I slept so much in my stay it felt like. But I’m refreshed and awaiting my flight to Sydney for the dreaded 14 hour flight ugggg! Over the last 7 days we did some cool things 2 concerts, road trip to Bells Beach, went for 3 jogs, hosted an outdoor cinema night (Point Break), ate about 20 pounds of home-made pizza followed by the fart Olympics! Caught up with my friend Ebaney at ... read more

Oi oi from Sydney(Coogee Beach), Made it back to Australia!!! But now I miss New Zealand and especially New Zealand prices! I don’t know if it was my Dad who instilled it in me but I’m a sucker for a good deal and to know that our dollar in worth $1.30 to every kiwi dollar just makes me feel good and be able to do a lot more things. So now that I’m back in the expensive Sydney suburbs and it’s so hard to do anything because it’s so expensive. Just getting a subway sandwich and chips costs me $11.50 Aus. Needless to say I’ve been eating in a lot and doing a lot of walking and swimming. This is my second day on Coogee Beach which is right down the street from the famous Bondi ... read more

Back in Auckland, After hitting the bus lines hard and traveling to Queenstown from Lake Tekapo and back to Christchurch with a hop in the midst consisting of a plane flight to Auckland I have made it through my New Zealand adventure. I now sit in a hostel/hotel watching the winter Olympics awaiting my plane flight early tomorrow morning back to Sydney and back to the heat! Upon Eva (German girl) and my departure we had 2 Israeli guys that wanted a ride to Mt. Cook as well so we through them in the back on the way up. Eva and I ended up just doing some easy short hikes here and there trying to get a good vantage point to view Mt. Cook and surrounding glaciers. We ended up hiking for 4 hours or ... read more

South Island Adventures, I have made it to Christchurch and am stuck here for 2 nights because I arrived so late last night there was no time to book a bus. I booked one this morning and it leaves tomorrow @ 7:30am to Lake Tekapo. I decided to go there instead of Dunedin because word on the street is its “shit” on the east coast of the south island. Plus I wanted to break up the 8 hour bus ride to Queenstown. I’m spending 2 nights at the Lake and will visit Mt. Cook one day and probably sit in the hot springs the other. Then off to Queenstown and Milford Sound. I finally got a good meal in me at the Auckland airport! Food isn’t that tasty here or I haven’t been able to ... read more

Good Morning from Auckland 2/8, I have finally made it to New Zealand after numerous plane ticket problems as well as credit card problems. My Kiwi friend Jane I met in Austria last year and she picked me up from the port and arranged a beach house trip to the small beach town of Russell, NZ. Russell lies 3 hours north of Auckland and is built pretty much on a small mountain. There is also a heap of different facing beaches in each direction as well as islands scattered along all coastlines. It’s a beautiful quaint town in which is the oldest town on record in the country of New Zealand. While we were there there was an ancient ceremony across the bay called Waitangi, which was the treaty between the Maori people and the European ... read more

Hey ya'll, 2/2 Back in Sydney, (special shout out to Brittany Dow who single handily ran the wedding on no sleep and who travelled from CA to be there.)  you’re in there now Dow! i missed her on the perth blogs! Since flying in Brisbane from Perth we’ve covered 1800km in our camper van making it back to Sydney in 6 days time. Our last planned stop was at Byron Bay(thanks Rhetro) which was a killer surf town, on the smaller side, in which had the kicked back surfer vibe along with long stretches of white sand encompassing a huge bay! It was so good I even got Johnny to snorkel in jelly fish infested waters. The views were amazing and the surf I here gets really good here. We even spotted a sting ray ... read more

maties, We said our sad goodbye’s to everyone and made our way back to Perth with the road trip crew. Rhett and Nadia had dinner plans with family so they dropped us at 6pm or so and our flight was at 11:15pm. So we had a few hours to kill at the port and then I learned that Brent had the same flight as us going to Brisbane! Weird. We sat two rows behind him the whole flight flicking each other every time we walked by to go to the bathroom. The day we landed in Brisbane just happened to be Australia day which is like our 4th of July in the states. So after we hopped on the train and hiked it up to the camper van spot we found out it was closed! Ugggg! ... read more

hey brogans', Rhetro (an aussie who we met on a rafting trip near Sacramento) picked us up and drove us 3 hours south with gf Nadia and Lara’s old friend Alexa from DC nursing school. We were in a Honda Accord sized car so to say the least we were packed!! We had to sit with bags on top of our laps and at our feet on top of being squished with three across the backseat. We had a good laugh filled road trip down south which is very very desolate. The landscape reminded us of traveling up the 5 north through central Cali. Just open plains with browning weeds and scattered trees. Alexa was a surprise guest that Lara didn’t know was coming for the wedding and she had planned a scavendure hunt for Lara ... read more

Ello’ mates, Good afternoon from Perth, Australia!! As I sit in the airport waiting for a plane to Brisbane I anticipate my blog will be filled with improper grammer due to the fact that Australians speak like “spasticks” as they called them also known as a retard haha..its definitely rubbing off on me. They seem to shorten everything as in university is now a uni and board shorts are swimmers or boardies ha..also everything common to me and you is called something different; such as a redneck type person is called a brogen, getting drunk is sometimes reffered to as getting on the piss, how you doing is called a how ye goin’ and a cooler is called an eski. This is our third flight in a week and we’re excited to get to the sunshine ... read more
