jamil and I after a great day in the waves.
Hi everyone! Well I'm proud to say that we, not only survived a ten hour train ride to get to Goa, but we've finally made it to a new state in India. We specifically came to this part of Goa to meet my aunt and uncle from Toronto, who are traveling in India as well. Tomorrow, we are suposed to meet them for a boat ride to see the wild dolphins. Yes, like always, there is a beach where we are staying in Goa. And yes it is quite fantastic! We're going to rent a motorcycle either today or tomorrow, and [View Full Entry]

Samir's article. We're in Goa now, which is a completely new state. We're at a hotel which isn't too far from the beach. The beach crowdedness is some where in between Varkala and Kannur, but the other beach is really crowded, so we stuck with the closer beach. The waves here are semi big so we rented two boogie boards. That was something new, which is good because I am literally sick of the beach. Tomorrow we're renting a motorcycle and an electric scooter, but since my dad is the only one who knows how to drive anything like that, we [View Full Entry]

This is a train bathroom. You stand on the two footprints and down the hatch it goes on to the train tracks.
Jamil. Hi everybody its me. A few days back we were at a place called Costa Malabari. It has a beach there that is pretty nice. We played some cricket here, if any one knows that sport, but I don't have any pictures of that. I'll try and send you some pictures later. There are some crazy steps there that I have a picture of. We have a fun game. It's called crab hunting and here's how you play. Take some sand and throw it at a crab. When the crab is buried with sand, you can pick it up. The [View Full Entry]

Hi! I just wanted to tell you about our houseboat trip though the 900 kilometer backwaters. we went from Varkala to Alleppy, where the backwaters are. we took a train there that was at least 4 hours and finally arrived at our hotel room. the next day we set of on the houseboat. we had rented the boat for the 2 of feburaryand stayed there over night. The day was nice and we saw enough ducks to take at least 3 pictures, yeah, and I mean ducks. our cook was great, he serverd very nice food and we stopped at [View Full Entry]

Samirs article. It's been a while since I've written, so there should be a lot. About a week or 2 ago, we went on a cruise through the backwaters on a house boat. The water was calm, the wind was cool and the nights were buggy. It turned out that the guides wanted to stay at shore for the night, to get free electricity from the village. Can you say "cheapskate"? Being so close to shore, with the light on, attracted bugs. And with that package came geckos. Three of them. But come morning all was well. When we got back [View Full Entry]

Beth's Article. Well, I am writing my first article (on a computer where half the letters are faded off the keys, so it is really hunt and peck) while Azim is away at an English school observing a class in session. We have taken over the internet cafe and out of the four of us, I am the least able to help anybody-we'll see if we can get this published! This first picture is of the kids in our Ambassador "Classic" that we rented for four days. We were supposed to get a brand new Indica car for six days and [View Full Entry]

We saw some monkeys dead on the side of the road. Just kidding man. There was a cute monkey in his mothers arms, alive. He had a scary face, though. There also the alpha male. Every monkey is scary except the baby monkey. By the side of the road there were some trees with lots of long vines so the monkeys can swing look cute now. Bye now! [View Full Entry]

Hi, It''s Alia again! I hope you are having a great time back in the Westren hemisphere. I've been having a fantastic time here, and I have lots to write about. Firstly, I want to say that India's hard to get used to, and even now I haven't quite settled in. It's also getting very hard to eat out every day because every resterraunt is the same, with all the same food. Plus, there are flies and mosquitoes everywhere and stray cats and dogs (and mice in the windows) too. But what is also so diffrent is that the people [View Full Entry]

Hi Vancover its me again, Jamil. Yesterday, we were at a beach that's called Varkala, which is on the Arabian Sea. These are just some of the many pictures we have. The hotel that we are staying in is called Bamboo Haven. When we first got there we went to a resturant called the Blue Moon cafe. I got a new soccer ball which we used to play soccer on the beach. The waves here are so big that I almost drowed once. Is it still snowing in Canada? Today we took a two hour train ride to Aleppey. Right now [View Full Entry]

Samirs article. We are at the beach, finnaly, which is just like the postcards. We came from Cochin on a 4 hour train ride but we had no clue when to get off, so we basically jumped off while the train was moving. We have a hotel in a place called Bamboo Haven which is really nice and right by the beach. The beach is like Ambleside, except the waves are bigger, stronger and more often. And the beach is nicer. We are eating out every night now, so I'd kill for something homemade. Other than that, everything is perfect, and [View Full Entry]
