Jamil. Hi it's me Jamil. We are in Alanya, which is a big city in Turkey. They have good food here, like doner kebab and cheeseburgers and the beach is nice because of the blue water. Yesterday we went to Side, a small town on the mediterranean where the beach is not as pretty as Alanya but they have a lot of ruins from the Roman period, about 2000 years ago. They had a hospital, a library and a place were the emperor would sit and the chrıstıans woud look at him and if he put his thumb down, the [View Full Entry]

Samir's article. As you sit there, your eyes glued to the screen, your fıngers frozen to the keyboard, as a chill runs down your spine, and your hair stands on end, these questions may run through your head: Where's Samir? What does perposterous mean? Who is Archibald? All these questions, inquiries and global annoyances will be answered -- in due time........ Anyway, normal Samir here. Just wanted to add that lately I've been bored with writing entries, so I have hired a fellow explorer to do them for me. His name is Archibald. (please don't laugh) Archibald's entry, 7/9/07[/h [View Full Entry]

Jamil. Hi its been so long and İ have not written on the blog. Anyway we have been in Turkey for about one and a half weeks long and İ did not think it would be like this for one reason- because the breakfast is always the same 1. tomatoes 2. cucumbers 3. and a couple of olives 4. meat and if you're lucky watermelon and the only thing to drink is tea. So we are really sick of it. İ'd love to have pancakes or waffles in Turkey for breakfast. Anyway, we are in Ankara the capital of Turkey. [View Full Entry]

Samir's article. Title explanation: Why be forced to do something dumb when you can do something dumb at your own will? Anyway, way back ın Kashmir we came back from our road trip {alive} to our houseboat. In our last few days there we went to a floating market...hunky dory, hunky dory....had a water fıght...hunky dory, hunky dory...Jamil fell into the lake...hunky dory, hunky dory. Parting from Kashmir and flying to Delhi was possibly one of the hardest things we'd ever done. Parting from Delhi was possibly the easiest. We stayed in London a little, then flew here, to Turkey. Untitled Hello everyone! Earlier this morning, İ admit that İ was missing Vancouver a bit and that I wanted to come home, believe it or don't, as Samir says. Mom of course told me otherwise, not to wish away our trip, and "no more negativity", but İ seriously think 5 months is long enough, and we were thinking to go for a year! Anyway, that was just a small whatchyamacallit: Dad and mom have told us to express ourselves on paper (actually they only told Samir that when he got mad about his math page and wouldn't tell anyone what [View Full Entry]

Jamil. Hi, we had come back from Leh at 11:45 pm, so then we all were very tired because of the bumpy track in the car. Anyway, the next day we took a tour through the canals and went to a papier mache shop and got some little things like papier mache elephants and turtles. Then we came back and we fished for just little fish in the afternoon but then came night fall and we ate dinner, don't worry, it was not fish! Then after dinner we got to fish some more and I caught 2 medium fish about [View Full Entry]

Hello! Well I know Samir has told you quite a bit about our "crazy enough to make you sick" - road trip to Leh, Ladakh. So as a recommendation, I advise you to read his entry before mine, as I am going to only write about the most interesting part of the trip, which he didn't really have time to tell. First of all, we took the car from Srinagar on a terribly bumpy road, to a dirty, restaurantless, busy, loud place where probably mom got the flu, - wait, let me catch my breath here - Kargil. It was [View Full Entry]

The city we recovered in for a few days.
Samir's article. After breaking records such as most nights spent in hotels (358) and most restaurants eaten at (a whopping 1,709), the Bhimjis set out to break two new records. Largest amounts of pit stops and near-death-experiences in two days! Yay! So we left Srinagar 3 or 4 days ago in a rented car on a crazy road to Kargill, where everyone wants to run you over or bad-hotel-poison you. The next day we drove on another road, which was nutso instead of crazy this time. I guess the landscape was nice, but your head is usually too busy in [View Full Entry]

Jamil. Hi it's me. We went for a 5 day trek through the Himalayas with a man who cooked and 3 men who got the ponies going by saying bachoo and bracoo and making other noises. One man danced at night for us and the rest were for packing the tents and sleeping bags on the horses. Anyway, the first day was easy. It was a 4 hour walk all together. Now, it was easy because it was flat. So we came back and played some Cricket and ate dinner and then we went to sleep. The next day he [View Full Entry]

Gypsy girls that lived in the village at our first campsite.
Hi everyone! Finally, having a bit more spare time, we squeezed in a short writing period right after our breathtaking (but cold) Himalayan trek. First, let me tell you how we got to Srinagar from KL. The morning after our last day in Kuala Lumpur, we flew back to Delhi, this time not for long. In fact, we really didn't want to come, considering it was over 42 degrees celsius!! Anyway, being forced to stay there two nights we whizzed around town in a non- AC rickshaw, five of us cramped in the tiny back seat, sweating like mad. Then, [View Full Entry]
