Four days in Hong Kong was just not enough. I was very lucky to have Adrienne as my own personal tour guide. We both were extremely luckily that we had a free place to stay. Gavin from our home town who now lives in Hong Kong let us crash at his flat. He was also nice enough to help Adrienne when she first arrived in Hong Kong in January. SO because places are small, as well as I was just sick of my stuff I left all my bags at the airport. It not super cheap but well worth it not having to lug tons of weight around when you are not going to be in a city for a long time. We went to check out Addie's school on the first day, having lunch ... read more

I know I am home now but I wrote this while still away but just never posted it. Well we are back in Bangkok but only for one evening. After a very long bus ride from Vientiane, where the bus driver actually slapped a guys face when he asked for the small light over the seats to be turn on, we arrived in Bangkok at 7am 2 hour late. We stayed at the same guesthouse as last time, but this time got an A/C bedroom but shared a double bed. It was the first time on the trip we ever shared but we were running out of cash. So after a 3 hour nap we went to get our legs waxed (very painful, they don't used anything but wax so when they pull off the ... read more

Well I guess that some people who read this site think that traveling should be done in just one way. That things that draw allot of backpackers are too touristy and that while traveling no one should have fun. Well sorry to tell you to those of whom it may concern, you are able to do some things that are fun and relax for a while, while still traveling around taking in the culture and interacting with local people. I don't believe that I said that my sister and I where drunk while on the river we did have a few drinks yes but that is half the fun. And guess what the tubing is supposed to be fun. The tunnels in Saigon the killing fields in Cambodia not so much about having a few ... read more

So we spent one night in the capital of Laos. I believe it is the smallest most laid back capital I have ever been in, in my entire life. We headed up to Vang Vieng for a few days of friends and relaxation. Vang Vieng is like a town for tourist. I don't think it would exist if it was for the famous river tubing, which is a must if you are in the country. The town really consists of three streets, each no more then a few hundred meters long. It is hotels, restaurants, tour agencies and shops and that’s it. Just repeating it's self over and over again. You don't have to think while in Vieng Vieng all you have to do is choose what restaurant you want to eat at, they all have ... read more

Hi all Well we just arrived in Laos after an 18 hour bus ride. Not so bad because we thought it was going to take 24 hours. I think we cut some time off since we didn't stop and most of the night we were flying down the middle of the road only to slam to a halt whenever something came the other way. At least the bus had A/C. Well for the first 1/2 hour, then it was windows and doors open to catch a breeze (as well as all the dust from the unpaved roads). A few of the local passengers did a little redecorating to the bus, breaking seats backwards and taking pieces out completely so they had more room and foot rests. The funny thing was no one seemed to care and ... read more

So Hoi An is the place to get clothes made. I think they have more tayolrs then the states has dunken donuts. We arrived yesterday morning after taking a night bus and a along search to find a hotel we all settled in for a few hour nap. Later the afternoon we walked around the town looking for a taylor, no need to look far as they run after you to bring you to their families shops. We were dragged to a market store where we poured over books and magizens looking at clothes. Not wanting to buy from the first place we walked around for a few more hours becoming overwelmed by all the shops, looking for one that many people had recomended. After a while we had to stoped and get something for dinner. ... read more

Hi Well I have finally figured out how to blog and it only took me half me trip. Here is a little recap of events so far. I stated in Bali meeting up with me baby sister. We traveled around to the Gili Island for a few days of sun and fun and a lot of diving. After that we took a 4 day boat trip down to the Komodo area to see the dragons and had a blast along the way. When we reached Flores it was a few more dives and snorkeling with Manta Rays!! Before moving down the island at an incredibly slow rate (roads are horrible and full of turns) towards the volcano. After a short but cramped plane ride we were back in Bali for a few days of shopping before ... read more
