Headed off towards to the Amalfi coast today, via pompei. After several hours of driving, we arrived in Pompei and had lunch before entering the ruins. Once we got into the ruins, I could fully appreciate why the ancient city is so popular amoungst tourists and historians alike. The way they town has been craved out from the ash, still in remarkable condition, really is a rare insight into ancient history.
