Ash managed to book us a fairly cheap hostel for our one night stay here so we werent expecting much. However it turned out really pleasant. Helpful staff, kitchen and a crazy cot/boxing ring style bed high up near the ceiling. After buying some supplies we set out for a quick tour of Budapest. After being here only a month or so back i was able to take Ash around the must see sights. We went to Heros square first which is awesome and Ash wandered into an awesome park that I hadnt seen when i was here last. From there [View Full Entry]

After the 3 hour bus ride into Budapest, we quickly made our way to Deli Pu. which was our train station. Having some time to kill and it being dinner time, we quickly ran across the road to order a take away pizza for the journey. It took longer than expected and we were almost going to run off without the pizza but it came just in the nick of time! When we arrived in Siofok it was after midnight and we soon realised the directions to the hostel were pretty average. To make things worse we got a major bum [View Full Entry]

Well after a wet couple of days in Cesky, we were welcomed by some more in Vienna. We stayed at a nice hostel, only 4 months old, so in otherwords, it was to new to have been mucked up and dirtied like some of the other hostels we have stayed in. I was sick as a dog but as we only had one night here before we left for Hungary, i thought it was necessary to get out and see as much of Vienna as i could. We walked up to the Summer Palace which was huge with great gardens and [View Full Entry]

After an early moring dash to the busabout pick up point, we arrived in Cesky Krumlov around noon. Unfortunately the weather turned very sour and we got our first taste of wintery weather. After months of stinking hot weather it was weird to be fishing around in my bag for a jumper! The hostel was awesome. It was very homely and was built in these loft like rooms. Awesome staff and a comfy bed, thats all i ask! After snuggling up on the couch and watching a movie, i went for a walk into the town. It was had such a [View Full Entry]

Solid overnight train from Krakow, only 4 people in an 8 people compartment. Ash and I actually managed to get some sleep thank god so when we arrived in Prague at 7am, we were rearing to go! After checking in, we went up to Prague Castle. An amazing complex perched up on a hill with some great buildings. There was a giant church with a bell tower, so being the young fit man I am, i climbed it and luckily it boasted a great view from the top! You could see the whole of prague. Later on i watched the changing [View Full Entry]

Luckily for Ash and I, then train to Krakow was almost empty so we were able to sprawl out and get some much need sleep. Seriously, sleep is a luxury i dont seem to ever have these days so i get it when and where ever i can!! Once we arrived it didnt take us long to find our hostel thank god, because is was sooo hot and humid. We were pleasantly suprised with out hostel as we basically had our own apartment. There were on 4 other guys on the floor who were only there to sleep (unfortunatley they returned [View Full Entry]

When we arrived at around 8am, Chris, Ash and I all must have looked like death because none of us got much sleep on the bus. It was pretty bad! Im short and i struggled to get even close to comfortable so poor old Chris who is a giant i think gave up about an hour in. Fortunately the packed bus emptied out by about 4am so we got a little sleep in the early hours of the morning. As soon as we got into the bus station terminal it became obvious how different eastern bloc countries are to the western [View Full Entry]

Shortly after we arrived at the station, Chris and Jakob were there to meet us. It was great to see Jakob, it had been over a year since he was in Eltham with us. When we got back to Jakobs, we had a big BBQ which was awesome because it had been so long since id had some beautifully cooked chicken and beef. The next morining Chris, Ash and I went for a bike ride in a big nature reserve near Jakobs. As we were riding we saw a plane (cesna) being towed towards a tiny run way. AS we stood [View Full Entry]

After a 10 hour bus ride we arrived in Berlin around 5pm. We headed off to the Hauptbahnhof(central station) to try to organise our transport to Hamburg to meet up with Jakob and Chris. We found a cheap bus but unfortunately we couldnt book it, so we decided we would just rock up (risky as) and hoped we could buy a ticket on the spot. We visited the Reischstag which was great to see in real life after studying lots of German history at school. The building was burnt down and as a result Hitler was able to gain the support [View Full Entry]

Well guys so far the infamous city has deffinately lived up to its expectations. Arrived from Paris on Wednesday to an absolute scorcher. All of Europe has been consistantly hot the whole trip but it felt so much hotter here for some reason. Any way after settling in a few of the people from busabout and myself went to walk through the red light district. It was amazing! Theres people everywhere, from seedy as dudes to families with kids. Anyway as you walk down there are these near naked women just chilling in these windows with red neon lights around them, [View Full Entry]
