Ow. I have no idea how far we've walked in the last seven days - but it has to be more than 15 miles. My blisters have blisters. My ankles are so swollen and they refuse to go down. Bah. But Vegas is still fantastic. The Grand Canyon was absolutely breathtaking, and with a small amount of snow still on the ground - both on the sides of the road leading up there, and in the park itself, I was speechless. I was six feet away from snow - the closest I have ever been in my life - but the fences and sheer cliffs of the canyon prevented me from getting close enough to touch it. Ugh. Five days without internet access creates massive withdrawal, especially when so much has happened in those days. We made it to Las Vegas ok - after too many hours travelling to count. An hour to Perth Airport, two hours before boarding, four hours to Brisbane Airport, five hours layover. 12 hours from Brisbane to Los Angeles, with less than 6 inches between my face and the video screen of the chair in front of me for the whole trip. The chick in front of me, before we even took off, laid her chair back so violently she missed my face (as I was settling my puzzle book into the pouch in front of me) by less than an inch. Hello all, Welcome to my travel blog! I didn't want to clutter up my other blogs with a mass of photos and maps and videos etc. This trip is fairly short - just three weeks in duration - however I am a prolific (but very amateur) photographer, so I thought I would give it its own space to grow and be free!
