This last leg was a doozy! By that, I mean we´re completely pooped. I´m sitting at the internet cafe in the Lima Airport right now waiting to catch my flight back to BA at midnight. We´ve seen 4 cities in about 6 days and we´re sleep deprived and burnt out on touristic tours to prove it! We arrived in Rio at 7am on Sunday and went straight to a hostel in the neighborhood of Santa Teresa which is on a hill overlooking the city center. What the guidebook didn't say, after the taxi had already left, was we had to climb about 6 flights of stairs outside in the drizzling rain to actually reach the entrance of the hostel since it was literally on the side of the hill. So I finally finished exams and classes in BA, came out with a B average and my GPA didn´t go down, which I can´t complain about since I was studying abroad. Victoria, another girl from the CofC program decided last minute to travel with me! So now I have company with my grandparents and parents are happy about! We flew out of BA on the same day everyone else in our group flew home, we just left bright and early that morning at 6am and they left that night. Well.....it's been a while yet again, but here a final Buenos Aires update before I leave on my trip to Brazil and Peru before FINALLY returning HOME to the good ol' US of A!!! So we pit stopped in Buenos Aires on Tuesday the 18th for one day to wash clothes and re-pack for Spring Break. Now heres the thing, we had reserved plane tickets for a 5hr flight to El Calafate which is at the tip of South America, almost the end of the world! HELLO! So, it has been a WHOLE month since I have gotten on here, it's about time right! Anyways we finally went on our first school sponsored excursion since the last on got canceled (or rather it's been postponed now until April the 17th). Two weeks ago we traveled to the Northwest of Argentina visiting several pueblos in the provinces of Salta and Jujuy. Okay, it's been more than two weeks since I last published an entry and SOOO much has happened. Hola Todas! I know it's been awhile, but things have been a little hectic around here lately. We found out that Carnaval is more of a Brasilian (Brazil) celebration and there really isn't all that many fiestas or gatherings in Argentina. Where do I even start? So much has happened since my last entry that I don't even know where to begin to cover it all! But here it goes. TODAY WAS AN ADVENTURE AND A HALF!!!! It was a long day today we took a Spanish pre-test, a 2hr written, which I placed into the advanced group, and a 15 minute oral exam but we went two by two so the oral took 2hrs as well because I was in the last two to go.
