July 28, Norway We got out of London early this morning and flew to Oslo, landing in Gardermoen. I didn't realize the airport is so far north of Oslo. No matter, we got our rental and headed the E6 on our way to the west coast. The weather is definately cooperating. We stopped for a nice swim north of Tretten at a commercial campsite. While there, I picked up some brochures on white water rafting. Given the beautiful weather, that was an easy call. We drove up to the Sjoa river and booked for the next day. We then made camp on the river at the recommendation of the rafting man. A very nice spot, and free. That was welcome as we had just begun to suffer a little sticker shock in Norway when we picked ... read more

July 24, London After a difficult day of train travel, we arrived in London. This time around I was awake when we dipped under the ocean on the Eurostar. Been there done that! We checked into the St Pancras youth hostel, which is very good. The location is great for train travel, and pretty central for everything else too. There aren't very many restaurants around St Pancras though. No problem, the tube gets you to Liecester square pretty quickly. July 25, London Aline, Caitlynn and Ashley checked out ??? park while I took care of some business. Later that day, we did the Thames river tour, which includes pretty good commentary when the audio system works. We got some decent prices on the London Eye from the youth hostel desk. It's a pretty good view. ... read more

July 18, Paris Today we caught an early train into Paris, checked into our hotel and made our way out to Versailles . Big line up to get in, probably and hour wait, but it was worth it.... All that fancy furniture and stories of obscene wealth. We had a very July 19,Paris This morning we decided to go to the catacombs of paris . However, the wait proved to much for us; Abort! Instead, we headed over to MontMartre . Here Caitlynn had her portrait drawn and we had a bottle of wine and some olives. Following this, we met our friends Jim, Heather and Jacob for beers and ice cream on Ile de la Cite. From here began the great March accross Paris. We started by using the river boat, but... read more

July 10, 2008 We had a long day today. arived in heathrow at 6:30. we made our way to st pancras, checked our bags and then had to wait for a eurostar train at a decent price. unfortunately, we all slept our way through the chunnel journey... oh well, we'll catch it on the return. We eurostared to brussels and then caught the local train to amsterdam. got in around 10:00 and slept well. Probably should have flown this leg, but we wanted to do the train thing. July 11, 2008 Today we did Anne Frank Huis in the morning... no line up, that was great! This is a very sad but good experience. Later in the day we started to get some of the shopping out of Caitlynn's system. but it will take more work. ... read more

Flight We used Sunwing for flight. The way down was fine, but the way back wasn't. We got bumped off the flight, see comments on tripadvisor url=http://www.tripadvisor.com/ShowTopic-g155038-i896-k1646160-Sunwing_Vacations_overbooking-Saskatchewan.html Hotel We based out of Terracaribe, . It was downtown, not in the hotel strip. It was pretty good and accessible to everything via the R1 bus across the street. Well, the bus never actually stopped for us across the street; we had to walk a couple blocks to the left as you exit the hotel. Catamaran On our first day, we booked a catamaran tour which was a great way to start. The boat made it's way over to Isla Mujueres where you get to pet a shark and do some snorkelling. The lunch break is in town. They served us local mexia... read more

Introduction This canoe trip in northern Saskatchewan runs from Paull Lake down the Paull River to the Churchill River and terminates in Missinipe. Paull Lake is accessed by float plane. The paull is a tributary of the Churchill. In some years, the water levels can be low enough to make this trip difficult. Not this year. In fact, some portages were washed out. For any canoe trip in northern Saskatchewan, the missinipe canoe outfitters, , are highly recommended for supplies and advice. July 31, 2006 We were dropped on a beach on Paull Lake. From there we paddled almost 20km to our first campsite on our first day. This was pretty hard on the girls first trip. They were worn but they made it. We also had a hard time finding a recommended campsite at a ... read more
