I have been to Kenya only once and enjoyed it tremendously. Move away from Nairobi as soon as possible because it is a loud, polluted and miserable place to spend any length of time in. I only spent two days there before heading out to the Masai Mara in Western Kenya. I bought a 7 day package from a tour agent in central Nairobi for appx. us $290 which was a bargain to me. I have been to Oman once, in the winter of 2006. Oman was full of surprises, the beaches are beautiful, there are some big mountains in and around Muscat. You can obtain a tourist visa upon arrival at Muscats Saeb Int'l airport for appx. us $35 if I remember correctly and it is good for 30 days. The prices are about the same as in Dubai so it will not be extremely backpacker friendly, however the locals are very friendly towards all "westerners", and very inviting to you they are very curious and ask lots of questions. I have been to Thailand 25 times over the past 12 years. This is some photos from several recent trips to the Kingdom. Thailand is VERY affordable and fun, you always find people to hang around and travel around Thailand/SE Asia with. I have been to South Africa 4 times, this is photos from my most recent trip to South Africa on Christmas of 2005. I flew to South Africa from Dubai on Christmas Eve 2005 spent 15 days in S.A. this trip. I find South Africa, Cape Town in particular to be very relaxing for me. I have never been to the top of Table Mountain, I know dont even ask me why! I also know that Cape Town has excellent seafood. This was my second trip to the Island of Sri Lanka, in July 2006. I arrived on a Singapore Airlines flight from Singapore in the late evening. You can obtain a 30 day Visa upon arrival at the airport in Colombo. It was hot and VERY VERY humid. I took a cabbie from Colombo's Bandaranaike Int'l Airport in the North of Colombo to the suburb of Bambalapitiya near the West Coast to the Ottery Tourist Inn Hostel, taxi cost appx. us $15. I have only been to the Hawaiian Islands 8 times but despite that.... I love it everytime. There is always somenthing new to see or discover in Hawaii. This past time I was on the Big Island and went to see the Volcano erupting, I have attached pictures below. Hilo........
