Sorry for the delay, I was in the midst of a last-minute essay panic and Brad's been working like crazy for the last little while so not much has been happening. However, I managed to get all my essays in last week (13,000 words in total) and had a nice week off before embarking on my dissert [View Full Entry]

Nice hair.

First of all we must apologise for the lack of posting these past few months. We have been busy with boring menial tasks so even if we did put anything up it would have been a picture of me reading a journal article or brad working reception or maybe one of us sleeping. However, we just came back from a fantastic trip to Lanzarote in the Canary Islands, so now we have more interesting subject matter. Hurrah! * Day 1 We had a nasty plane ride from Glasgow to Arricife Airport, it lasted about four hours and it was cramped and [View Full Entry]

HAPPY NEW YEAR 2007! I'm back in Edinburgh after a hell of a trip home - 2.5 hour car ride from Lethbridge to Calgary, 8.5 hour plane ride from Calgary to Manchester, 4 hour train from Manchester to Edinburgh and about 1 hour of me hauling my stupid 60lb suitcase up a hill and a bunch of stairs. AND my ear popped on the plane and got all infected. So I had to go to the doctor's today and get this awful thing that you stick in your ear and push down on a button and it sprays antibiotics into your [View Full Entry]

We thought we would do our final entry of 2006 before I leave for Canada (TOMORROW! so excited), because we will be too busy partying it up during Hogmanay to do any more travelblogs this year, haha. I am done all my essays and exams and whatnot, they were stressful (especially the barbaric 72-hour take-home exam) but I got through them. I have one more essay due in January but I'll worry about that when I get back. Milne's Court has quieted down substantially since pretty much everyone has gone home already. A few people are sticking around here for Christmas [View Full Entry]

Hey everyone! Sorry we've been slacking on the travelblog, Brad's been running all over the city trying to get a full-time job (he actually found two so now he gets to pick one, yay!) and I've been in the midst of the end-of-term crunch. I have a paper due on the 8th, a 72 hour take home exam on the 4th-7th and then I want to get a bunch of my OTHER paper done before I come home. I'm tired. Brad's been doing the bouncer thing, although now that he has two full time jobs to choose from (one is an [View Full Entry]

Last week we went on an excursion to Deep Sea World. This was a very nice short trip just outside the city of Edinburgh by train. We had to go about 30 minutes from home and across the Firth of Forth to a place called North Queensferry where we found of course another large hill that we had to go down and back up again...aaaaaahhhhhh!!!! The Deep Sea World has the longest underwater in the world at 121 meters and approximately 3000 fish including 4 giant sharks and 4 seals outside. Jackie and I got to touch a ray(slimy) and a [View Full Entry]

Hey hey. Not much new around here. Brad's gone to work tonight - he got hired at a security company which contracts out to all the bars and other functions around the city. Tonight he's at a wedding at the Royal Botanic gardens ready to bounce out all the rowdies. Go Brad! ;) I handed in my first postgraduate essay on Thursday. It was nerve-racking, you have to bring in two copies and put cover sheets on both of them in the postgraduate office, then you have to read and sign a paper saying that you promise you didn't plagiarise. It [View Full Entry]

Hey everyone! We're back from Amsterdam, which was, needless to say, a complete gong show. Brad and I went there with some friends of ours from the court (Dave the lawyer and Chris the neuroscientist) - Brad and I got a hotel room (the Beethoven Hotel) and the other two guys stayed in a hostel called the Flying Pig. After we'd arrived and gotten settled in we took a walk to the Heineken Brewery - it cost us only 10 Euros each to get in and that included the full tour and three drinks each. Since it isn't a functioning brewery [View Full Entry]

AAAAHHHHHOOOOOO!!!!! Today we went on a bus tour around Edinburgh and Leith. We saw the Royal Botanical Garden of Scotland (Garret you would of loved it), it has the largest amount of native Chinese flowers in the world, other than China of course. At the gardens they have the oldest palm tree in the UK and the tallest greenhouse in the UK. I made friends with a black cat that was hunting or something in the gardens. There was a part of the gardens that was dedicated to the queen mother which had a small hut made of wood with the [View Full Entry]

Brad is back from the homeland, yaaay! I went to pick him up at the Glasgow Airport and was pretty effin' cranky after waiting for 2 1/2 hours, but it was awesome that he finally came back. Man, was I bored. So get this, Brad's flight left Calgary, landed in EDMONTON to fuel up because they were doing work on the Calgary runways, THEN landed in Manchester to fuel up AGAIN then finally on to Glasgow - in total, approximately 13 hours on the airplane. So he was effin' cranky too. Poor guy. The first night back we went downstairs and [View Full Entry]
