Ha Noi to Sa Pa and back down to Hue

Well to make a long story short Ha Noi sucks Of course as with all my entries these are personal experiences and by no means a general opinion. Go out and enjoy yourself. As for me I have to say that Ha Noi was probably the worst place I've visited in Vietnam or maybe it's right up there with Kon Tum. It is dirty it stinks and the people are so unfriendly it's not funny. The only friendly

Finding some peace in Hoi An...

Ok next stop Hoi An.One more long bus drive down the mountain from Kon Tum brought us to a rather uninviting and rude Da Nang... Getting the local bus from there to Hoi An was a mission too but we made it. I was in a rather upset and annoyed mood but soon changed my attitude as I discovered that Hoi An was nothing like Da Nang. We shopped around for a cheap hotel room... not that easy. Found one

Quy Nhon to Kon Tum

Welcome... News update from the east... Still alive and kicking...To start with the good stuff... Quy Nhon was quite enjoyable not so enjoyable was the bus ride there though... The driver must have been on his first drive and we were sitting on a steady 30kmh The drive that was supposed to take 3 to 4 hours took almost 6 hours Mai Linh Express turned out to be anything BUT express that day...

Welcome back to a new round of blabla... glad you enjoyed what you read so far or so I assume and are happy to join me for another bit of life experience coming straight to you live and in color from the Central Highlands of Vietnam.HCMC was great as was the Delta but all good things should come to an end when it's all still good fun... and so we hopped on a bus Sinh Cafe for USD 6 to Da L

Vietnam... here we come Ho Chi Minh City and the Mekong Delta

The first thing I noticed in Vietnam was that everyone that was sitting on a motorbike was actually wearing a helmet I was impressed. In Australia it's the law to wear a helmet everytime you get on a bicycle but I was surprised to see people here weating helmets too. Only a few wear helmets in Thailand and Cambodia...Anyway HCMC is an interesting place. We found some good food there too which ma

VIVA CAMBODIA a quick but interesting 4 days

Alright border crossing into Cambodia from Aranya Prathet... Quite an experience. I thought we were passed the times of being followed and spied on apparently a common practise in East Germany when I was still a little tucker... but as I had to unwillingly experience it is still happening daily at the border Seriously. After falling for some dude on the side of the road that helped us get the

Welcome back to the next round... Trat. Yes Trat. Long bus ride and not much to do there but good for a nice little chill out time with a bit more oxygen though not any less tuktuk drivers yelling out for you. Trat is ok nothing special the beaches in the area are quite dirty and the water is poo brown. But if you wanna stay in a nice place with friendly hosts check in at Ban Jaidee Guesthou

Hello hello... and welcome to the next stop alog the way. I hope you had a pleasant flight and I look forward to having you on board again very soon...well this was the flight from Phuket to Bangkok. Quite honestly I was very happy to spend a night at the airport for the promise of a safe flight to Bangkok... but we were lucky enough to just have to wait for I think 5.5hrs or so. But if you're fre

From Langkawi to Satun Krabi and Si Boya

Alright... Langkawi lies behind us we are on the boat from Langkawi Malaysia to Satun Thailand. The Ferry ride was much more enjoyable than the first one. We actually had seats inside and it only took about an hour to cross the ocean. Once we set foot on Thai grounds we got ourselves inspected by the border patrol got our visas and booked a bus to Krabi. Satun didn't sound like an interesti

From Krabi to Ko Phi Phi and Phuket or as I call it Poo Town

We left Krabi a day too late.... very funny As backpackers days and dates and times don't really matter. Unless you make a prepaid booking for a bungalow that costs 1000 Bath a night... and you don't get there on the right date. Was our fault we figured it out... but I would have liked to plame the dude that made the booking for us cuz I could tell by the way he spoke to his Thai friends that

Ok... I've decided to write a little story about a few things that keep putting a smile in my dial in Thailand... Hope it sounds as funny as it is.Well first things first... we're writing the year 2551. Yes that's rght 2551. Even though life here seems to be about 100 years behind the calender is actually more than 500 year ahead. Quite funny when you look at your bus or train ticket... back t

Selamat Datang and Welcome to my first travel blog entry...It's been 3 weeks since I arrived in Asian Lands and I have to say it's been quite an experience. Every day offers new exciting adventures new sights and new everything. So over the next 2 months I will try to keep this journal up to date as much as possible but I have to admit it's sort of a challenge too because there is so much to do

Cameron Highlands

Ok the Cameron Highlands were quite an experience. The journey there was probably the most exciting part as the bus driver was quite sleepy.... that's to say the least. He was actually falling asleep on the wheel Crazy. We sat in the front and I had my eyes clawed onto his face and he must have had his eyes closed for about 20 seconds per minute Not kidding. It was scary. And if you've been on

Ok Penang IslandGeorgetown.Cool place. Loved it. Enjoyed the slow pace and the vibe. Food was nice. Good roti with curry for breakfast there Night food stalls more of a disappointment but all good. Had a nice chill out time there sat on a brick wall on the ocean for a bit and decided to book a ferry to Langkawi for the next day.In Langkawi we had some of the spiciest food yet. But not the spic
