Sounds like you're doing a really good thing doing that volunteering :-)
And here's a lil fact - Christianity reached India before it reached northern Europe with a little help
from our Portuguese compares (i guess).

Glad you made it to Goa Hi. After your last message we looked at the map and realised that you have covered loads of miles. I am presuming you now plan to spend quite a time exploring the coast of ~Goa as I think you said you expect to be there for Christmas. The beggar thing was something I found difficult in Sri Lanka. We did not have a problem in Bangkok luckily. We were in Bristol last weekend - Pete and Freda seemed quite well - we print your blogs and Freda reads them to Pete. They really worry abour you both so it is nice for them to see what experiences you are having. Pete's sight is really poor now and he has been registered blind so life is not so easy for either of them. They are coming here to Lutterworth for Christmas. Keep well and have fun. Love you loads. John and Fran
love from me 2 u 2 Hello my dearest loved ones, lovely entries from you both, feel like I am there what with all the begging, poo smells etc. Wouldn't it be nice if you could talk to the people and children without them having alterior motives ie money all the time but there again we are talking about a nation of poverty - I think you are right about not giving to anybody but to give to a registered charity.
Theres flood everywhere in England cuz non stop rain and gales but in a way it is quite cozy and I don't really mind it.
Teresa, Fidge, Mum and Jamey coming up Boxing day cuz have a day off so that will be nice.
Jam starting to decorate his flat and has a tasty girl who is a decorator to do it for him but she has told him there is no chance she gonna date him!!!!! He bought me a beautiful necklace when he was in India last but I've only just got it - it is absolutely lovely it is little beaded affair with real jems and feels lovely, Jamey tells me it is some kind of prayer necklace with each kind of bead meaning something. Jane has all the meanings written down and Jameys gonna try to get the info 4 me.
Everyone askin after you and how u gettin on so now I can tell them.
Bye bye my lovelies look 4ward to readng next entry xxxxxxx loves u - frm Mums
haha, plenty more tricks up their sleeves where that came from! Getting used the to the transport system takes a long time, probably just as you're about to leave
You really should get into writing books Liss! Very entertaining, maybe this blog could be the start of your memoirs? Keep having adventurous times

Hi Russ . Hope your adjusting to your new life. All well hare. Will be putting some cash into your bank over next few days . Rest to follow .
Enjoy yourself. Try some monkey brain soup.!!
Happy days, and yeah the stares might be with you for the long haul, good job you've got Russ to look intimidating next to you >:-(
I'm getting flashbacks as I think back, what have you finally planned on for your birthday??
So nice to be able to follow progress Hello to you both. I have loved reading progress so far. I know when I first went to Sri Lanka my impression was one of amazement at how many different forms of transport, loaded up with people, were on the road as well as pedestrians, anaimls and even people sitting holding conversations in the road. You perhaps should think about the fact that two of Dad's brothers were born in India. I wonder how different it was then!!!!!! Hope you are fully recovered now Russ. it is not called Delhi Belly for nothing!!!! Shame you missed the Taj Mahal but I think seeing how different communities live can be just as interesting. Pete and Freda are hearing about your progress and were worried to hear about Russ's trouble but I will allay their feers when I ring later. Love to you both. Hope you are getting pictures of the monkeys!!
