I thought about going there too bc the weekend 22/23Sep supposed to be good weather! and it WAS good weather! :((( U should had told me and dragged me along with you from Hamburg! hahaha I actually planned to go to Berlin on that weekend, but for some reason I ended up skipping both - Munich & Berlin! :( And well, I agree that the Oktoberfest is probably overrated but it's an experience everyone should have ONCE in his life! We have drinking festivals in big tents everywhere in Germany, BUT BAVARIA is as U know... very exotic even for us Germans! All the girls in cute Dirndls and the guys in leather-shorts... Damn... I am sooooo jealous now!!! :-) |

But I just used the words to job my own memory... and the only time we got to do campfire songs was at Grävenwiesbach. Plus since the kids don´t speak great English, learning one song was really tedious for me and tough for them so it´s not like we just sang a bunch around the campfire. So don´t worry; you didn´t have to embarrass yourself on YouTube! |

| 7th June 2007 Monica | hint for consecutive camp weeks - From: Teambuilding and Leadership exists in Germany! weekends = sleep not laundry. sleep is far more important than clean clothes. bosses notice when you're tired and blame it on boys/other counsellors... not the fact that children tire you out. and children notice when you're tired... and you don't entertain them as much when you're napping, so they make trouble. also, i don't know if you guys have a "curfew" (susan tried that... only kinda worked)... but honestly - you'll want to go to bed by the end of the week! even if staying up late is the only time you talk properly with the other counsellors... there is always tomorrow. Hey wow, I got back to my preaching of sleep! hmmm sleep. P.S. take solace in the fact that it's 6 weeks not 9. haha. but sounds like you've got a bunch of great people there! I'm so excited!! is there a pool?? play go go gopher!!! |

It totally made me want to visit Venice, and it made me really appreciate Vivaldi's four seasons so much. Unfortunately the real Venice is not as peaceful as the Venice on the cassette. You know how they had all those scenes where there was quiet paddling of gondolas? Yea, none of that. Still cool though! Definitely glad I saw it but I don't think I could go back... there's just not much there! |
