| 21st January 2008 Erin-Marie | Happy New Year to you Ash! - From: Happy - Delayed - New Year! Hey Ashley! Happy New Year to you as well. It really is sad how much we take forgranted over here in the "1st world" eh? Sometimes I think that everyone over here, whether spoiled or not, whether rich or poor, should take a trip to the "3rd world" just so they/we can really appreciate how good we have it and how much help is needed over there. Anyways, I'm glad you had a marvelous time in Spain and Morocco. You deserved it! Only a couple/few (?) more months left for you! You must be excited to come home. Make sure you enjoy yourself while you are there, which I'm sure you are, because before you know it you will be back here and be thinking "what was all the rush to come home for?" Keep the entries and the pics coming as they are great to see! Talk to you soon and thanks for the facebook message! |
| 22nd December 2007 Sophia Weaver | Self-care - From: A Moment of Truth. Ashley, I did not think your last entry sounded *holier than thou*, I understood exactly what you were trying to communicate. You are correct in stating that you will never be able to fully process it all til you are back. I was in the SL for 10 days last March, saw many of the things you did and to this date, I am still processing all I expereinced. Don't be too hard on yourself. This entry is reflective and sumises that your journey is a deep one. Remember the self-care. It is important that you take care of your emotional health too. There are no easy answers to the questions you posed. The solutions may seem simple to those who are not directly involved or do not understand the complexities of life in the country of Sierra Leone. You sound discouraged my friend. Take it easy, be gentle with yourself... |

| 5th October 2007 Erin-Marie | - From: The Beach... Hey Ashley! It sounds like you truly are having a great time. It is really amazing to see how God works in peoples' lives eh? And how happy they are and they pretty much have nothing. All they need is God and each other and you can definitely tell. I can only imagine how hot it is there as when I was in Thailand it was extremely humid as well and you are even closer to the equator! Keep the stories coming as I love to hear them. Have fun and keep safe!!! |
