Sivota Mainland Greece Europe » Greece » Epirus
6th July and a well deserved week to the beautiful Village of Sivota in Mainland Greece. Kat myself and Kats mum ( mother in law to be ) took a flight to the island of corfu where we then took a ferry to Igoumenitsa and then a short taxi drive to Sivota. Sivota was mainly a small fishing village but over the years has increased in popularity with the sailing community and bears host to a large array of yachts and motorboats. We stayed in the Blue Coast apartments which looked directly over the harbour and is run by Angie and [View Full Entry]

We recently went to an amazing wedding of our friends Anna and Ben at Lake Vyrnwy in Powys in Mid Wales staying at the Lake Vyrnwy Hotel. What an amazing location! Not knowing that something so nice was on my doorstep was quite an eye opener. so 2 weeks after, we decided to go back there and walk the circumference of the lake which is approx 12 miles long. There is a road that goes all the way around so it was pretty good terrain to walk on but being tarmac it was pretty hard going on the feet. There are [View Full Entry]

It had been dumping snow in the alps for the last 3 weeks and Avoriaz was boasting 2m of snow on the upper slopes and the resort hadnt even opened which was looking like we had got lucky with a pre Christmas ski trip of epic proportions! Myself ( only Skier ) Boss, Ray and Marty booked a cheapy from Bristol to Geneva Hired a car and found a cheap one roomed studio apartment to have 4 days of skiing / boarding and not to mention a few drinks along the way. everything about getting there is so easy, after landing [View Full Entry]

Egypt - Taba - Nov 08 Africa » Egypt » Sinai » Taba
Our second time to Egypt, this time we decided we wanted to go to Taba on the Sinai peninsula rather than the 100mph of Sharm as we hoped it would be a little quieter and less hassle from the locals. Our arrival was at Taba airport which is a military airport was interesting to say the least, long queues to obtain your visa stamp ( £15.00 ) which is a large stamp put in your passport and then you move on to the next box where another chap then stamps your passport with either a stamp to allow travel throughout Egypt [View Full Entry]

Beautiful Oman Middle East » Oman » Muscat
Now as neither me or Kat are big fans of the package holiday it was still hard to pass up a bargain trip staying at the Shangri La Al Jissah al Waha resort just outside Muscat in Oman. why not, everyone deserves a bit of luxury now and again! The Sultanate of Oman is quite frankly stunning consisting of mainly desert, mountains and secluded perfect beaches combined with lush Wadi's dotted about the countryside. It is one of the only countries I have been to that overwhelmed me with the passion people have for where they live. As a visitor to [View Full Entry]

Ski Trip to Andorra Europe » Andorra
Now I am not a fan of packaged holidays at all as i generally like to get a flight and just go and figure it out when i am there. So, given i love skiing and hav'nt been since i went to bulgaria in 2005 i wasnt going to turn down the opportunity. Myself and KT, Gaz & Jen and Chris & Nic headed off to Manchester airport to get a flight to Tolouse in France where we would then get a transfer to Arinsal in Andorra. Flight time was only an hour and a half so we jumped on to [View Full Entry]

Murrayfield
Scotlands Finest
Its good to have good friends and a big thank you to Neil who in true Scottish form offered me a weekend in Edinburgh to go to the RBS 6 Nations Rugby Match at Murrayfield. I was stoked at this prospect as firstly I have never been to see a 6 Nations game ( Despite the fact the Millenium Stadium and what was Cardiff Arms Park is virtually on my door step) and also at the fact that I have never been to Edinburgh either. Now Given the way we played against the Irish the week before I honestly thought that [View Full Entry]

Arnside on a lazy saturday afternoon
Well its another New Year and I hope you all had a good christmas. After going back home to Usk over christmas it has become apparent on more than one occasion that people have said I have put on some winter warmth. ( people saying hello accross a busy bar and making gestures to me in the form of a pregnant woman rubbing her belly) Therefore I am determined to get myself a lot fitter and what better way to start the new year off with a 5mile walk around Arnside. Arnside is a little village on Morcambe bay and even [View Full Entry]

Me Swimming through the massive broken propellor shaft of the Dunraven
We did our first wreck dive today at the wreck site of the Dunraven (Beacon Rock) in the Strait of Gubal. The Dunraven was a British Merchant Steamer Ship which was built in Newcastle in 1873 by Mitchell & Co and was bound for Bombay. The wreck came to a halt upsidedown with its deepest point at 29.5M We started the dive at the deepest point at the stren of the ship and entered the hull swimming through the inside of the ship and exiting around the middle of the ship near the engine room Its very eerie as a lot [View Full Entry]

Local Dive Site in Sharm
Started our advanced Course today The advanced consists of 5 dives, our first dive was a compulsory dive which takes you down to a depth of 30M, we did this at a dive site called Ras Kati, Steve Hinton was our instructor and before we took our first deep dive he asked us on the surface to do a short test including some basic questions and some maths questions. this was timed on the surface and then again at 30m below. The objective was to show us how nitrogen narcosis affects the brain and slows your reactions down. I did the [View Full Entry]
