Well it has been a while since I have writen anything on my blog but then since my last entry myself and Katharine have had a beautiful daughter and havnt really had chance to go anywhere until now. At 7 months we thought it would be a good time to trial a short break with our daughter and organise a city break which wasnt too far away on a flight. We are also in training for a marathon later in may so we wanted to find somewhere we could incorporate our run. We decided to head to Prague and also entered the Hervis Prague Half Marathon as well. We flew in to Prague on the 29th March with Jet2.com, last time i book a flight with them as we got stung on top of our booking

Back in Cartagena we found a very small and cramped internet cafe and booked ourselves in to the Park Central Hotel on 56th and 7th which is only a short walk from Times Square. We flew in to JFK and took a bus for $15 Bucks to Port Authority, the weather was no different to Columbia and NY was enjoying ( depending on how you look at it) a heatwave with temps in excess of 100 Degrees. We Sweatily checked in to the Hotel and headed up to for the first time in weeks an amazingly comfortable bed with a shower that has hot water.. bliss... We pretty much collapsed for

Day 1 of Trek We Arrived at The Hotel Miramar at 8:30am feeling slightly nervous about being in the jungle for 5 days, the chap who runs the Mirimar Backpackers is a really nice fella and like our host at the casa familiar made you instantly feel you have nothing to worry about. We paid the 450,000 Pesos each which worked out about $250 US Each. The Hostal acts as an agent to Guias Y Baquianos Tour and although there are others such as

When you have 3 weeks off work its worth making the most of it and doing as much as you can so we chose Colombia.. So many people asked us why we would want to go there and the simple answer was for an adventure. Plus its a country that has so much to offer which seems to have lost a lot of its tourism in last last few decades due to unrest with the drugs trade. All of that seems to be changing though and like anywhere as long as you use your head and a bit of comman sense its no problem at all. We flew to Bogota but

Kat myself and Kats mum ( mother in law to be ) took a flight to the island of corfu where we then took a ferry to Igoumenitsa and then a short taxi drive to Sivota. Sivota was mainly a small fishing village but over the years has increased in popularity with the sailing community and bears host to a large array of yachts and motorboats. We stayed in the Blue Coast apartments which looked directly over the harbour and is run by Angie and Mert. The food there is great so even if you didnt stay there its well worth a visit. After our 2 days of doing nothing but relaxing and laying on the beach we hired a

Not knowing that something so nice was on my doorstep was quite an eye opener. so 2 weeks after, we decided to go back there and walk the circumference of the lake which is approx 12 miles long. There is a road that goes all the way around so it was pretty good terrain to walk on but being tarmac it was pretty hard going on the feet. There are plenty of places around the lake to pitch up and enjoy a packed lunch if you don't fancy one of the cafes in the area, Before the lake was made, in its place was the

Myself ( only Skier ) Boss, Ray and Marty booked a cheapy from Bristol to Geneva Hired a car and found a cheap one roomed studio apartment to have 4 days of skiing / boarding and not to mention a few drinks along the way. everything about getting there is so easy, after landing in Geneva it is only an hour and 20 mins till you get to the resort. literally head for France from Switzerland which puts you on the A40 and take junction 18 and follow signs

Our arrival was at Taba airport which is a military airport was interesting to say the least, long queues to obtain your visa stamp ( £15.00 ) which is a large stamp put in your passport and then you move on to the next box where another chap then stamps your passport with either a stamp to allow travel throughout Egypt or a local stamp which only allows you to stay within the Sinai area. Mine was stamped with the right stamp on my visa sticker and KT's was stamped with the local one as he

The Sultanate of Oman is quite frankly stunning consisting of mainly desert, mountains and secluded perfect beaches combined with lush Wadi's dotted about the countryside. It is one of the only countries I have been to that overwhelmed me with the passion people have for where they live. As a visitor to the country we were made very welcome and everyone was exceptionally polite and could'nt do enough for you. Oman is situated on the Southeast corner of the Arabian Peninsula bordering with Saudi Arabia, United Arab

So, given i love skiing and hav'nt been since i went to bulgaria in 2005 i wasnt going to turn down the opportunity. Myself and KT, Gaz & Jen and Chris & Nic headed off to Manchester airport to get a flight to Tolouse in France where we would then get a transfer to Arinsal in Andorra. Flight time was only an hour and a half so we jumped on to a bus where we were met by out Neilson Rep "sophie" who in fairness wasnt too bad as far as reps go, she was happy to answer any questions but didnt push anything on to
