Border crossing
Wow, crossing the border sounds really familiar to Guatemala! When I crossed into Belize they asked for 20 Quetzals (an illegal fee) to leave the country and then after going through the Belizean customs we walked through a 3 acre 'no man's land' which is disputed territory between the two countries. Same made up fee crossing over to Honduras (where I walked 200m with my backpack until I got to Honduran customs). Lazing in hammock with cold beer sounds pretty great xxxxCelina

Great reading your blog. Brings back lots of memoies of my travels in India........the sounds and odours, great street food, negotiating with rickshaw drivers, the scams.................... I am hoping that you will share your recipes with me as \I love Asian food. Don"t forget to bring back an assortment of exotic spices. Sarah, I really felt your terror and ...Andrew must have felt guilty (or should have). Great pics..I particularly like the blue thing a ma jigs under your helmuts. Looks very cool. Beer is pretty cheap, but relative to everything else it is expensive. Costs anywhere between 35 and 50 baht for 650ml bottle at the 7-eleven (there are 7-elevens everywhere here) which is about 1 - 1.50 CAD - 60-95 baht at a restaurant. It's 12 baht for 1.5L bottle of water.
