Wow... I knew I didn't really keep my Blog up to date... but that I actually didn't write about anything of my Venezuela Experience, exept the arrival somehow slipped my mind... Well... month have passed, I have seen a lot of this country and still there are so many things left, that I did not manage to visit and now it's already time to say good bye and start once again a new journey... So I'll just try to sum up the most important moments and experiences... After a pretty stressed start in my job here - because I had the first big conference I was in charge of just one month after my arrival, had to prepare sessions, select my trainer team, train the trainer-team, work on the logistics of the event and so ... read more
Hallo world, Welcome to the people newly connected to this blog! So Venezuela it is this time! After just two weeks in Germany, unpacking my Russia luggage and extreme shopping for Venezuela, saying ‘hallo’ to old friends and good bye at the same time, spending some evenings in a good friends pub and enjoying my Mom’s cooking I left my tiny, calm hometown once again to get to know new parts of the world. First stop was Warsaw, where I attended the International Congress of AIESEC from 22nd of August till 3rd of September. 550 students from all over the world, workshops from 9:00 am till 11:00 pm + meetings afterwards and wild regional parties until early morning… I think there is not much more I can say! Amazing! And I finally met the first of ... read more
Hi my dear friends, everything has an end, sooner or later... Now it's time to say good bye to Russia, at least for some time and to start a new journey to other places in the world and new tasks... My time in Russia was great, really nice people who cared for me, gave me the best ever feedback, helped me to broughten my knowledge and horizont and shared unforgettable experiences with me! In the last weeks I became a world cup addicted German, watching the mayority of the games - something I would have never done before, but with the right people, i realized, it can be a lot of fun! ;o) I had the chance to go to St. Petersburg with Tati, Peter and Julia and we spend 2 wonderful days, watching the sunrise ... read more
Hey my dear friends all over the world... I have been a bit lazzy lately with this blog, so I'll try to catch up with all the activities I have done in the last 6 weeks... Due to the fact, that I missed a whole month in Moscow, time is getting short and there are still many things I haven't seen yet, so I went on an extrem-sightseeing-tour to catch up on all the things that are worth seeing... And I had to hurry 'cause I wanted to know the best places I could send my German friends too, that were going to visit me beginning of June... Sooo... let me show you all the great things I have seen and the fantastic time I spend with Russian and German friends in Moscow. On May 22nd ... read more
Hi there again, on the weekend of 18th to 20th was the AIESEC May Planning Meeting (MPM) at a datcha - a weekend house a bit outside of Moscow. Many Russians have these datchas to flee from the noise and dirt of the city during summer or at least the weekends. Besides that they grow different kinds of fruit and vegetables in the gardens there, to either consume them themselves, or to sell them at markets. Datchas are very simple houses of wood. They are normally not completely furnished, a bed, some chairs, a kitchen and a table... Lucky if they have a real toilet and not just an outhouse... Well, I didn't participate in the MPM, but I went there with some others to enjoy the evening together with the members of AIESEC in Moscow... ... read more
Now as well in Spanish, at the end of the message! Jetzt auch in Spanisch, am Ende der Nachricht! Ahora tambien en español al fin del mensage! ______________________________________________________________________________ Hi Guys, Long time since I haven’t written, but due to the fact that I wasn’t in Moscow for a while there was not much to tell you… but now I’m back and this is what happened lately: Spring definitely arrived in Moscow and outside in the parks the trees are blossoming and the weather is quite nice! Well, it’s still cold in the nights, but during the days sun is shining and we reach about 18 degrees Celsius. On 11th of May we met at Sasha’s apartment where he invited us to Russian food and a nice get together. We spend a really nice afternoon, first eating ... read more
Hi there... On 8th of March was Women“s day in Russia... Official Holiday!! So on 7th several men of our company passed through the offices and gave roses and a congratulation-card to each woman!! Nice!! In the evening we had a tiny party at the trainees flat... we had a day off the next day, so we had to celebrate... Most important rules if you attend a Party in Russia... 1. If you hear about the party, tell the others! If it would be a private party people would tell you in advance!... Generally, the more people, the better!!! 2. Everybody buys some beer and brings it to the party (yes, eventhough there are other stereotypes, Russians drink far more beer than Vodka) this way everybody contributes to the party... and it is always welcomed to ... read more
Hallo again... and once again I'll share some new impressions with you... On 19th of February I went together with some of Leshas family to Lawra... but first we had a rich breakfast... did I already mention, that Russians eat a real cooked meal for breakfast??? Well, we had chicken and rice and salad... AT 7 AM!!!! Afterwards I felt sick and I had a stomach ache the rest of the day!! ;o) Well, anyway... afterwardsd i went with Leshas mom, his brother, aunt and uncle and their two children to Lawra... Lawra is a town, a bit outside of Moscow where a vary famous monestary is located... even though it is just 40 km it took us an hour to get there! Amazing!!! As I already mentioned, religious places are very colourfull!!! And religion is ... read more
Hi There again... How to tell in brief all the things I have experienced, seen and learned already in the first days... Generally speaking, Russians are quiete nice people, as long as you can either speak Russian, were introduced to the person ... foreigners in the street are not that friendly... they are muttering and unfriendly... to say sorry for stepping on somebody's foot... why??? During Rushour Metro is so packed with people, that everybody bumps into everybody... sometimes I feel like a cow in a herd, drove to somewhere. Metro doors open hundrets of people surge out of it, either to the exit, or through up and down leading floors to the next platform to be pressen back into another Metro and stand on other people's feet until they reach their final destination... cosy ;o) ... read more
Hi there, First you find the English version of my diary entries, than the German... OK.. where to start... The flight to Moscow was ok, the plane was not one of the newest and I had some doubts if I should really get on it for some minutes... but I arrived savely in Moscow and thanks god had some help with filling in the immigration documents and passing the check points, because I met two nice russian girls in the plane who could speak a perfect German... (all Russian documents are only in kyrillan letters - exeptionally friendly for all foreigners...) At the airport my AIESEC-contact (buddy) Lesha welcomed me and then we went outside... -16 degrees Celsius... brrrrrrrr... but honestly, I expected it to be worse!!! It didn't feel that cold, just when you try ... read more
