I don't have much diving experience but I am kinda interested in knowing someone with the same scuba course/school as mine: NAUI. I feel awkward knowing that NAUI is a very good institution yet I do not know its members. I know only three other people (My instructor and two other diving friends). I have actually lost touch with my four other classmates, sad to say. Anyway, reading your post makes me feel that I am not alone... I hope we can help build a bigger group. Enjoy your future dives!!! |

| 15th July 2008 Eddie | Another great story - From: Meeting Lady Liberty Wow Marie, I enjoyed reading another of your travel stories. I can relate to this one because I took the same trip two years ago in the big apple, however, I did it in July and the weather was much warmer. I just returned from a SCUBA diving trip in Bonaire (a group of Islands off the coast of South America owned by the Dutch). One day I would like to start a travel blog like yours...but I'm afraid it would not be as good...so keep up the great stories and I might add you are looking as beautiful as ever. Take care. |

I feel great about comments like these, aside from the fact that I really love to write about my travel experiences. I have written quite a lot about the Phils, so feel free to browse my posts on Surigao, Kalinga, Cebu, Sagada, Cagayan De Oro, Camiguin, etc. Thanks for the warning on big American-size food servings! It's a lot of fun to try them all, though! HAHA! |
| 20th August 2007 Eddie Talley | Another exciting trip - From: Moving to the 'Burbs (Suburbs) Dear Ann Marie, Sorry I have been late adding my comments, I read your article the day it was posted on my email, but just now getting to respond, of course I would rather read about one of your exciting trips in Asia, or where ever, but you describtion of Detroit and Chicago are funny and interesting to read. Its sounds as if you are getting a good taste of American culture with the amusement parks and all of our junk food establishments,,,just be careful you don't lose your nice Asian figure if you eat to much of the American foods. Fall in the North is nice but soon winter will be there and you will experience why they call Chicago the windy city, very cold. I still think you need to move to Atlanta...I'm teasing. AS always I enjoyed reading your blog and looking forward to the next one. Stay safe and keep writing. Eddie |
| 13th August 2007 anonymous | - From: "In the navy, Yes, you can sail the seven seas"... I'm glad to see your "lost" blogs are restored. This is valuable travel-journalism! Look forward to seeing your latest entries... there's a lot more to Chicago than I thought! |
| 11th August 2007 annmariemarie | @Ralph - From: "In the navy, Yes, you can sail the seven seas"... Thanks for always visiting my blog, Ralph! Travelblog.org crashed for days, as you said, and they lost my latest entry i.e. Moving to the Burbs... glad to find it cached in their server and they say they will recover it ASAP. Geeez! My face turned white when I realized one was missing! Too bad for the others, they have lost 11 or more! |
| 8th August 2007 Ralph | Scenic Chicago - From: "In the navy, Yes, you can sail the seven seas"... Nice set of photos... Best of luck, keep the blogs coming! Ralph |

| 16th July 2007 phoebe | i grew up in initao - From: Nostalgia in Initao i grew up in initao, you should've stayed a little longer and you could've meet a lot of your relatives and realize that you are related by blood to almost everybody in town. | 9th July 2007 Eddie | Michigan & Detroit - From: "In the navy, Yes, you can sail the seven seas"... I remember the first taxie ride I took in Detroit, from downtown to the airport. It was a hot July day, the taxie cab had on AC, the inside roof was bare rusty metal. I thought what a first impression of the motor city. Annie as always your blogs are great I enjoy reading, I found Detroit to be a dirty city and was happy to leave, but I found the state of Michigan, especially the northern areas to be so beautiful. |
| 4th July 2007 Cel | places - From: Commuting in Chicagoland -- and Loving it!!! Hi Marie! how are you? I like your blog its very informative:) |

When you return be sure to see the largest shopping destination in the western pacific, Micronesia Mall. It is 4 times larger than K-mart, has 110 stores and the islands biggest food court. | 30th April 2007 Ralph | Fierce! - From: "Be good to me. I have friends in Detroit." That's a fierce-looking tiger! Loved the pics and the excellent narrative, as usual. The 'Chase' would be funny if it wasn't so scary... don't forget, safety in numbers! Great tour across the varied landscapes of Detroit and Dearborn. Makes me feel as if I was there! Keep it up and take care! |

| 3rd April 2007 annmariemarie | @imorena - From: Surfing the Nearby Islands of Siargao Yah Pansukian is for people who want to be pampered I heard, hence the pricey rooms. You may want to try Villa Ernesto where were stayed at. They're relatively cheap but you will need to rent a boat to get to the nearest surf site such as Dako. If you want to go to Cloud 9, you will need to hire a motorcycle. I still suggest Ocean 101. |
| 3rd April 2007 annmariemarie | @arlene - From: Climbing Mt. Dagulgol Thanks arlene. I am not so sure if you can camp along the beach. Maybe pwede as long as you don't take the shores by La Luz or whatever resort is there. You may take those quite far from the crowd. Still, I am not very sure. |

Dagulgol hi.. i was surfing the net when i found your blog..it was really nice..am planning to go there this week...would like to ask sana if we can camp din sa beach? kasi the last time i went there 2003 pa so i don't know kung pwede pang mag tent along seaside have any idea?.... |
| 31st March 2007 imorena | siargao - From: Surfing the Nearby Islands of Siargao Thanks for that. A couple other foreign friends are joining. Also into surfing so that will be interesting. Do you think that there are many backpacker places we can stay for cheaper value? I've seen pansukian and it doesn't seem to be too friendly on the backpocket. |
| 30th March 2007 Ralph | Michigan countryside - From: Ann Marie at Ann Arbor It's nice you're seeing another side of Michigan... away from the hustle 'n' bustle of Detroit! I'm sure the wide open spaces and rustic farmlands make a welcome change to your usual routine. You made some good observations about Ann Arbor, University Town and the traditional aspects of life there... keep exploring and keep us posted! |

It is originally from Camiguin Island. Ham and chicharon from SLERS are the known Cagayan de Oro pasalubong including cashew nuts. | 4th March 2007 Jimmar | Better to have your own ride - From: Climbing Mt. Dagulgol The first time I climb Daguldol we commuted and surely it was time-consuming to arrange for a ride back to Lipa. So better bring your own vehicle if you have one. We (smbmountaineers.com) will be climbing Daguldol coming March 10 and we will be bringing our rides. Secure naman yung parking area sa HEGA. Sana nga lang wag kami singilin ng napakalaki hehehe |

| 5th September 2006 jen | i came, i saw and i conquered....now, hand me that bengay 'cause i can't feel my legs anymore - From: Climbing Mt. The first 30 minutes sa trek, parang after every 2 minutes nagpapahinga ata ako. |

| 9th June 2006 annmariemarie | Thanks All! - From: Climbing Mt. Dagulgol Thanks for the compliments. About renting the jeepneys to San Juan, well we did not have that much of a problem because our trail head did all the logistics for us. It was a breeze. We concentrated on the trekking (which was quite a challenge to a beach-lover like me). |

| 22nd May 2006 Margagnel | Hah!!! - From: Climbing Mt. |

| 17th August 2005 marj | - From: Lucban and Majayjay Falls astig talaga sa Lucban...=) |
| 5th August 2005 Noel | resort is disappointing - From: Kayaking Balai Their Laiya location has small fusty rooms. There are no windows. They charge an extra US$10 to use the air conditioner. Only a couple of cottages face the beach. The rest are behind a building. The only good thing there is the gorgeous beach. But then you get the same in the neighboring resorts. I consider this location a rip-off. |
