Yogi and Boo Boo's big adventure...... Jen and I got ourselves ready for our trip to Yosemite national park on Monday the 18th July, both pretty nervous and not sure what to expect, we knew it would be a whole bunch of people sharing one bus for 4 days without showers but we didn't know how many or how it would all work out at all. We prepared ourselves by buying a couple of bottles of wine and some small bottles of whiskey and brandy, so at least we'd get through thte first night if nothing else! We filled ourselves up [View Full Entry]

So here we are in San Francisco, the first stop on the new trip, my first time in America and I am loving it! I arrived Tuesday afternoon after a very long but uneventful flight with a dissapointing array of inflight films, I was hoping for Batman Begins, War of the Worlds or ............... but instead I got 'Bridget Jones's Diary: Part 2' and 'Hitch'...........hmmmm. Jen and I had got seperate flights so it was very strange when I was waiting in the hostel room to hear a knock at the door and find Jen on the otherside, all the way [View Full Entry]

Back by popular demand (ahem), I decided to update my blog, hopefully I will be resuming it from somewhere a little more tropical than Poynton in the future, but Poynton is as much excitement as I need for now. I am well on the mend, as is my friend Annecy, slowly. She came up to visit and we went out for dinner and much sparkly to celebrate and toast our continued road to recovery, it was great to see her out of a hospital bed and with both of us wearing slightly more fetching outfits than green hospital gowns. I have [View Full Entry]

I just wanted to write a blog as I have had a few emails coming in asking as to my safety and whereabouts after the terrible disaster that has struck Asia. I am one very very lucky lady and still alive, as is my friend which I am so very grateful for after a very terrifying 2 days before I found her. I have only been home now for a few days and apologise for not being able to update this sooner. My friend and I were in our bunglaow as the wave hit us and carried us off with it, [View Full Entry]

Well I sit here a sad little lady on Koh Phi Phi, Annecy has just emailed to let me know that her flight from Bangkok to Phuket was delayed and so she has to stay in Phuket town for the night and get the early boat instead - another whole night to wait! Anyway, I shall take the opportunity to write about my last few days, I can't remember when I last wrote a blog really......I think it was about a week ago, I am loosing my grip of time and days of the week. Koh Lanta was fantastic, the island [View Full Entry]

last days in KL Well i am now in Thailand and have made it to the beaches finally!! My last few days in KL were great, Hazel and I went to the Bird Park and an Elephant Sanctuary on the weekend and another Christmas party. The Bird Park was nice, they cover an area of forest in huge netting so most of the birds get to fly around quite freely, but there are still a few locked up in cages that are way too small, I don't really like that at all. But we saw some amazing birds and some very [View Full Entry]

I can't believe its December already and I have been on the road for nearly 4 weeks now. India already seems a long way away and I do miss it, all the challenges and the people and the mice, but it is good to be here in Kuala Lumpa. I arrived on Saturday morning after a flight via Singapore airport. On the flight I was more than happy with Singapore airlines when they offered me some wine, after 3 weeks of just the odd beer it was very welcome - I think that's the longest I've been without wine since I [View Full Entry]

Well, I didn't manage to catch the 10am bus on Monday morning, I met a bloke from Holland called Ric on Sunday night over a beer and soon it turned into a big group of us from Germany, England, Holland and Ireland. Two guys from Ireland, George and John, were also heading over to Amritsar and were planning on getting the earlier, and quicker, 5am bus on Tuesday morning. I hadn't wanted to get this bus as it meant getting up at 4am and getting a taxi down to Dharamsala to the bus station in the dark, alone. So we arranged [View Full Entry]

Well I have nearly been in Mcleodganj for a whole week and I am still not ready to leave, it is a beautiful place and very relaxing, you certainly get pulled into the laid back way of life people tend to have here. Saying that, I fly out of Delhi on Friday night so I am thinking about jumping on a bus tomorrow morning and heading to Amritsar in Punjab, the Golden Temple there is meant to be well worth seeing, although after the Taj Mahal I can't believe anything will come anywhere near as close.... So this may well be [View Full Entry]
