I always think that photos never do the landscape justice and they all looked amazing so god knows what it looks like for real. Went out for Dan's birthday last week and got hammered on wine. Never again. i'm sticking to the spirits. Missed Rob Lowe as well. Gutted. Continue to enjoy the travelling. Take care. Jonny xx |
| 8th August 2005 sueandchris | American Dream - From: Yosemite Sem! The photos of Yosemite are really the best yet. It looks simply stunning. Not sure we could have coped with the communal sleeping and lack of showers but would love to sleep under the stars. We know you are now in NZ and probably Yosemite already seems like a dream. How wonderful to have these blogs as a record to look back on. It must have been great fun to have Jen with you and a bit strange now she's gone home, but I'm sure you will love NZ and OZ. Looking forward to the next blog. All our love, S&C |

It's all such a contrast to your messages from Asia but really good to hear you sounding so upbeat. We have been to see your Mum and Dad tonight and have inspected the very impressive decking that your Pa has built. They are both looking very well and your Mum still very brown despite a remarkable lack of sun this week. Also went to Jon and Jen's today and they all send lots of love Take care, all our love C&S XXX |

Not sure how long you will still be in US cos your Mum says you have changed your ticket to move on to NZ soon. It sounds wonderful and VERY different from your experiences in Asia. We had dinner with K&L last night and your Mum cooked a super meal. Nanna is having a really good time in Wales and just loves being in her caravan again! I'm sure Kate has already contacted you. The last two weeks have been very difficult in London but she sounds very upbeat and determined not to be affected by these manic extremists. We are looking forward to hearing about where you go next. Lots of love S&C XXX |

| 14th November 2004 anonymous | Clapham Common Fireworks... - From: Happy Divali!!!! Anna - Glad to hear about your impressive impromptu firework display - what a contrast to our experience of bonfire night on Clapham Common several years ago... having stood in the pouring rain and listened to the (Swedish) Mayor shout at us all (there were at least 77 people and three dogs on the Common that night) through a megaphone for several minutes, we proceeded to light sparklers at which point a steward rushed over to tell us they were banned for safety reasons... Anyway... sounds like you're having a great time - don't worry too much about the squirrel! We were out for Chloe's birthday lunch today and you were sorely missed, we can't quite seem to get ourselves organised without you... Keep us updated on your progress! Adam & Philip |
| 10th November 2004 anonymous | bravery becomes you - From: Zen and the art of motorbike riding.. Anna, Just remember that once you've done this, you can do anything. The best parts of my travels have been when I'm alone, you soon get beyond the frightening aspects and come out the other side being a much more balance person. Enjoy and we'll see you soon, "H" & Margaret xxx |

| 7th November 2004 anonymous | on the edge of my seat for news... - From: The busiest place I've ever seen.... Dearest Anna, It's Mia here - I don't know how to add a comment that's not anonymous, and from now on I'll probably email you. But I wanted you to know that I've been thinking of you since you left, and that I read your first entry and I'm so happy it's all working out so far. I am with you every step of the way, and can't wait to hear everything about your trip. Love you so much honey. Take care, Mia xxx |
| 7th November 2004 anonymous | Glad you're not Agra-vated.... - From: The busiest place I've ever seen.... Okay, okay, that is possibly the worst pun in this half of the hemisphere - and please be reassured that it is my new mission to create a fantastic pun-slam for every place that you visit. I am so bowled over by how you seem to be taking everything in your stride (even though you might not be feeling that way yourself), but you booked your ticket, packed up your stuff, got on the plane, and more importantly got off the plane - thereby doing what so many of us dream about doing but find that we 'can't possibly go because the kitchen cupboards need sorting out' - You are one brave lady in my eyes and I hope that you continue to enjoy all the sights and sounds and smells that you have written about so evocatively. If you can bring me back a cow then that would be fantastic - if not then I hope I get chance to see some of your photo postings soon. I can't wait for the next installment of the jopurnal and hearing about some more of your adventures. Take care my love - Annecy x x |
