I am pretty sad to be leaving Ko Toa to be honest with you, it has been the best island by far and only wished we could have stayed a longer time! We where here for Songkren which is the Thai New Year and it is one massive water fight and celebration all over Thailand, all the Thais are off work for a day of 2 and sdet about early morning soaking cars, moped, babies, grandmas, dogs, and travelers the most, but i think us travelers gave it back pretty good :). People bought water pistoles from 7/11's and filled them up from water buts stationed every 10m's. It was the best day ive had traveling i think every single person was happy and was laughing...all apart from one very grumpy grandma on a scooter that ... read more

Appologies people for not writting more blogs those of you who i dont speak to on the phone must have been wondering what on earth i have been doing! Well... Ko Phi Phi was a very pretty island arrived mid afternoon and due to no cars on the island we walked to the hostel which was called Flower Bungalows which was a very hot and sweaty walk. The room was a bed on the floor in a little bamboo shak type thing with a fan and a sorry excuse for a toilet/bathroom lots of mozzies everywhere but nevermind still doesnt compare to the horrors of Cape Tribulation and that spider + snake infested place. We had dinner in a boat in the trees (bascially a tree house made out of a boat) we love our people ... read more

Well Bangkok has been a education to say the least! As we got a taxi from the airport to our hostel the impression i got from Bangkok was as hectic as you can get, amazingly hectic though. I actually love the chaos its so organised every single person knows where they are going to and how fast they are going to drive to get there. Scooters weave in and out of huge truck lorries with less than 1year old babies in the middle of two parents not even flinching as they cut through an inch away from each other. We stayed on a road just outside of central Bangkok called Silom Road, which was connected to a busy street which had a massage shop every other door down. If you look up above you the telephone ... read more

Hey everybody so we are in our last few hours in Sydney and defiantly going to miss Australia...after spending an hour talking to Joanna we have finally booked our hostel for Thailand which was running a tad late but my head has been in some funny places recently so am organised-sort of for at least 2 days into Bangkok. So to fill you all in.... after we left Brisbane we headed to Surfers Paradise which we had been told is pretty similar to Benidorm...so we were ready and waiting for some wonderful sights ha! Our hostel was called backpackers in paradise and it was very paradise like should have been renamed Backpackers in Benidorm as we agreed it was quite similar! We met a very mad irish man called Willy who followed us around for a ... read more

We had been told some bad things about Brissy, that it was boring and had nothing to do. As soon as I stepped out the bus i thought i liked it already. We had only scheduled to stay there for 2 days so wasnt a long stop off. Our hostel was meh okay quite a big dorm where people didnt really want to interact with each other so we headed out straight away to explore. We walked all over Brisbane CBD and strolled through the botanical gardens which were beautiful with lovely purple flowers blooming over the trelis for about 2 miles! Then we came across the city lagoon which was a lovely big pool over looking the city we saved that for the next day. Headed back to the hostel as we were getting a ... read more

G'day my little suks hows it going? :) So we stayed in Rainbow beach the day before we went to the infamous Fraser Island. We woke up fairly early that morning and loaded our plates with pancakes to fill us up before packing up the tents and food crates with our guide and 8 germans and a lonely crazy excited french bloke who we were to spend the next 3 days in very close quaters ! chlo and i looked at each other with slightly worried faces as they were speaking all in german and thought this will be interesting to sy the least! but they turned out to be fine at english and dabbled between the languages to tell us what they were laughing at so all was ok. Day 1 we headed out in ... read more

Legend has it that there was a time in blackfellow’s land when the night came down like a black cloud and veiled the world in darkness letting neither moon nor stars be seen. But as Bohra liked to feed at night, he objected to this darkness. Being a great wirinun, he put an end to it by just rolling the darkness back as if it had been a rug and let it rest on the edge of the world while the stars and moon shone out. Bohra was very pleased with himself as he could now see to feed during the night and he could go about as he pleased on his four legs, for in those days Bohra went on all fours like a dog. One night as he was feeding, Bohra saw a number ... read more

The Koala Boy This story was told long ago by the aborigines in Australia. It explains why the koala must always be treated with respect. There was once a child whose parents died, and who was left in the charge of cruel relatives who forbade him to drink the water they had collected from the creek. The child was forced to eat eucalyptus leaves, and he was thirsty most of the time. One day, these relatives went off into the bush for the day to hunt for food. By an oversight, they left their water vessels in a place where the child could reach them. As soon as they were out of sight, he took the opportunity to drink his fill. Then, thinking of what might happen when they returned, he had the foresight to take ... read more

1770 is apprently the 2nd place Captain cook found on his travel to find Australia! well he didnt find much becasue there isnt much there! its a pretty sparse town with not a lot of people..not even much history in terms of museums or signs or historic houses. just a few small stores and a laundrette. we had caught an over night bus from midnight to 9.45am i fell asleep for most of the journey waking uop every so often as the seats were obviosuly not designed to sleep on. never mind. we got the 12oclecok shuttle bus and moseyed on down to the beach where there was a surf / life saving club littering the beach most of them kids that were amazing out on the waves! was a smallish beach with a lot of ... read more
