Hello everyone, Well I am back to work in the Yukon, in a small town called Faro. There is about 400 people living here. It's a pretty quiet little town compared to other communities I've worked in, and I mean quiet, like nobody is out and about after 9 pm, nobody. Luckily, I'm a loner and don't really care. Hey everybody JAMAICA NICE!!!!!! I'm really loving my time here. I came to Jamaica last minute with my friend Emily to meet her boyfriend and his family. I arrived Dec. 29th. I was supposed to leave Jan. 24th and again I was supposed to leave Mar. 6th, and I'm still here. The next departure date is the end of this month and I will be on that plane, I promise mom and dad. Well, I am back to the Yukon and really happy about it. The weirdest thing happened to me the day I was leaving Vancouver to come back up here, I got this nervous, excited, like you're a kid Christmas morning feeling in my stomach. I couldn't wait to go back up north. There is something here that just resonates well with me. I like looking around and seeing virtually untouched wilderness. Carlee and I only had 5 days in Italy, there is so much to see, it of course was not enough time, but we made the best of it. We had a few days in Rome, we went to Pompei and Mount Vesuvias and then a town called Sorrento. While I was in Rome, I was thinking about that saying, "When in Rome, do as the Roman's do." Before I left Dublin, I was checking "summer solstice 2006/London" on the internet as Carlee and I were heading back that way. Well, what popped up was something I could not believe. Never in a million years did I think I would be able to go to Stonehenge for that one day of the year when everyone really wants to be there. Not only was this possible, IT WAS FREE!!! When Carlee and I were on the Aran Islands, we met these 2 guys from Galway. We were all hanging out on the beach one night and it was pretty late. Anyways, one of the guys got a call on their cell from their friend Paddy who lives in Dublin. Well, it turns out Paddy was quite a singer of traditional and modern Irish songs, and the later in the night it got, the better his songs were. OK, so we didn't find the shamrock at the bottom of the cup, we found it at the top. It was a very big moment in a remote pub in Malin Head at the farthest northern point of all of Ireland! After Dingle, we cruised farther north, but kept to the west coast. WOW! The rugged coastline was so nice, and the sun held out for us. I LOVE IRELAND!!!!!! I'm really having a lovely time here in Ireland. We took an overnight ferry from Swansea in Wales about a week ago now and had a beautiful sunrise that morning that seems to have been a good omen since. We have had only bright sunny days since our arrival. People are like, no one gets a suntan in Ireland, what is going on? Anyways, Carlee and I rented a car and have been cruising. After our whirlwind trip we returned to uncle Matt's and met up with my brother Blair and his girlfriend Lindsay. We mostly just hung out all week and went into town a couple of times. I went to the Salvador Dali gallery one day. It was neat. I never knew he did so many sculptures. Of course many images were repetitive and consistent in both his painting and his sculptures such as the melting clock, the spanish bean, snails and there were several sculptures with elephants and paintings with his wife in them. After a week in London, my parents, Carlee and I set off on a 1 week trip that Winnie and Barry had arranged before they left Canada. We took in a lot during this week. First of all we went to Paris for 2 nights. I can't say enough about this city. The cheese is awesome and I got to see the Mona Lisa, it was fun. The Louvre was absolutely amazing, it is a famous museum/art gallery.
