Hello there. My name is Amy and I have been with Youth With A Mission going on 6 years now. It has been quite the adventure and Jesus has given me a lot of oppotunities to see Him at work and reflected in the lives of others. I have been truly blessed to know Him and He has given me so many wonderful friends who have become family. Thanks for taking the time to read some of my thoughts and share some of my experiences of the last few years.

So I went on a weekend trip to Geraldton, in Western Australia, with a Ministry called "Lost in Traffik." It's focus is being a voice for the voiceless on the issues of injustice, especially in the area of child trafficking. The group uses photography and the Arts to bring awareness. While in Geraldton, we went to schools, churches and the local mall and shared about child trafficking and had a silent auction on photos that were taken on a recent trip to Thailand. It was awesome to get the opportunity to share and talk with people of all ages and backgrounds and hear many of their personal stories that related to injustice. We also got to spend time hanging out with the local youth, just getting to know them and build relationships...good times :) ...for more ... read more

So we had a staff retreat in November, which was incredible. During the day we had teaching times and times of worship and waiting on the Lord. In the afternoons we spent time playing...bucketball in the ocean, rugby, volleyball, soccer, or whatever else people could come up with. At night we played many different games, such as dutch blitz, Texas hold em, running spoons, etc. It was a great time of connecting with each other (~300 staff) and just enjoying each other's company. Many good memories came from this week. We also had a formal evening in which we honored our base leadership. It was such a blessing to get to know the people I work and live with better. ... read more

Hey Everyone... So I have been in Australia for a month now! I can't believe it. It has been wonderful and growing. I love the times of fellowship, sharing of struggles and challenging moments of honesty and vulnerability. This morning during a time of worship, the Holy Spirit led us in a time of confession that was just beautiful. The leadership here is so sensitive to how the Holy Spirit is moving. I am so challenged in my faith and understanding of God's character. It is amazing to be in a room of a few hundred people who are crying out to God to know Him and be changed by Him. There is such a realness and vulnerability in the people here. I am so blessed to be here. I don't want to miss out on ... read more

It’s update time... I just wanted to let you all know how it has been these last two weeks in Perth. First off, I am feeling at home here, which is huge for me. These people really love Jesus. Everything we do is covered in prayer and it is so beautiful to be around. I am amazed at how God moves. One of my roommates is leading the Discipleship Training School (DTS) this quarter and Father has provided over $180,000 for all of the students’ outreach. When I arrived they were still short over $20,000 and it was amazing to see the money miraculously come in. It is so encouraging to see God provide. We had a “report back” time a couple of days ago (a time where teams that have just come back from outreach ... read more

Hey all you lovely people, I hope that everything is wonderful there. I just wanted to let you know how my travels have been so far. My time in Oahu was beautiful and I was so blessed by catching up with old friends and encouraged by the conversations we had. I loved being around my old YWAM base and realized how much I miss the culture and people. The flight to Sydney went so smoothly and I was amazed at how fast 10 1/2 hours could go by. My friends Justin and Malia picked me up from the airport and it was so good to have familiar faces there. On Monday we took a train into downtown Sydney and explored a bit. We saw all the expected things such as the Sydney Opera House, the Sydney ... read more

So I have decided to finally start to use this blog. I am sitting at Kahili Coffee House on Kirkland Waterfront right now with my friend Holly. She is trying to help me get stuff ready before my big move a week from today to Australia. I can't believe it is here. Honestly, I feel like it is not my life. Anyhow, this blog is a going to consist of past and future travels. It will take me a while to get everything caught up from the past years with YWAM and my other missions trips, but I am determined to do it. ... read more
