So I'm surrounded by the wildfires of Northern California. Camp is going on as usual. The smoke in the area is thick and because I am working in the office I know the local fire department has called to make sure we have appropriate evacuation plans. It's weird though; no one is acting like it's a big deal. I guess they don't want everyone to freak out, but last I heard the closest fire is only 4.5 miles from us. Change in location... I quit my job in Glacier, bad situation. Got an amazing job in a summer camp in the redwoods (thanks Ace!). Drove 21 hours to San Fransisco. I loved it in the city. Driving into Montana, I was nervous and trying everything to build excitement. Driving into San Fransisco, I could barely contain myself. It smells good, it tastes good, and god does it feel good! It's already June! Time is flying...in general, not so much here. It's raining again. I'm missing everyone. I wish everyone was here more than I wish I was home. So Bill left yesterday...vacation over. I am officially here and working. Working hard. I'm a breakfast cook so normal day I'm up at 530. For those of you who don't know me, getting up that early is ludacris. The owner, my boss, is so incredibly anal and OCD. She trained me to do prep work and spent 20 min showing me how to take out the trash. Painful. I'm sure once I get into the swing and she backs out of the equation, things will be easier. So we arrived on Thursday, it was raining. It was snowing as we drove through the mountains, but mostly just raining... it's still raining. Poor Bill. It's supposed to stop raining pretty shortly after he leaves. We both blame him. He even offered to leave early if it would bring the sunshine, he's sweet like that. We went to Canada today...for lunch. The border is only twenty minutes away. Afterwards we sucked it up and went hiking in the park (in the rain). The fog has been pretty thick.
