Hi Solana, I am back in the states, sending my own prayers up for Pastor Cayetano and his family. I was there for only a year, and thought it was time to come back. If you head down there, let me know, ok?? I will tell Pastor and Vilma that you said hi! Thanks.
Happy summer Hi, Anna!
Today is the first day of summer here. Temps in the 70s in northern Vt. Mr. Bullock preached at his home church here. They are back in this area after 14 years of serving God in Honduras. I hope that everything is going well for you. How much longer do you plan to stay in Honduras?
Please give our love to Pastor Cayetano's family and Pastor Victor's family. I still have some of Pastor Cayetano's coffee. I drink a cup every day or two and dream of Honduras and pray for the people there. Lord willing, I'll go back some day.
¡Bendiciones!
Solana
My friend Carol Yes, my friend Carol teaches at the school with me. Her dad is the pastor of Iglesia Hebron, in Copan. Carol and her family are a big blessing to me!!!
Isai I remember receiving the news that Isai had been born. I pray regularly for his family. I still have a stash of coffee his daddy grew. Before going to Honduras I never liked coffee, but now I really enjoy it. So many people that I brought Cayetano's coffee to said it was the best coffee they had ever had!!
Abril and prayers How wonderful that you got to spend with Abril!! she is such a blessing to our family, though we only know her through our trips to Honduras.
I am very excited to hear about the prayer-a-thon for the church in Limón. Certainly seeking God''s face is the very best thing we can do to bring about growth. so often we American Christians try everything else under the sun instead f prayer. I will be praying for growth in El Limón and will ask others who traveled there with me to do so.
Which church does your friend Carol attend? Who is the pastor? Is she teaching at the bilingual school too, or doing something else?
How lovely to see Damaris in the beautiful dress that Vilma made for her!
I wish I could've eaten some of the enchiladas you and Vilma made.
Hacienda El Jaral Our medical and building teams used to stay there when the Bullocks lived near Ruinas de Copán. I am so excited about you being there in Santa Rita. You are an answer to my prayers that God would continue to encourage the pastors and their families that Clifton and Jane worked with.

Hey looks like you have been birthdayed! I am glad you are better and the pictures are cute and awesome, glad you are feeling better. Be careful and continue to have a nice time.
friendships Anna,
It is exciting to read about your friendships with Vilma, Carolina, and María Jesús. I have seen Vilma several times, as members of our teams have worked to help dig in preparation for the foundation of your church and also built the retaining wall by the river.
I met María Jesús the last time I was in Copán, shortly after she and Ed became engaged. Ed worked with us as we put in the foundation for Pastor Victor Manuel's church in Santa Rita and also traveled with us to numerous aldeas where we set up medical clinics. Oh, yes, and I remember Billy and Mary, the Southern Baptist missionaries too.
Pastor Cayetano's coffee is the best!! I have purchased and brought back more than 200 pounds for numerous friends and family members. And now, I like to drink coffee, too!
During my first trip, in 8/04, Pastor Cayetano took our whole team in trucks up to Limón for a worship service. At that time, they were meeting under a tarp. We collected enough money for them to buy a plot of land on which to build, but I never made it back. I remember leading the children in singing, "Cristo Me Ama."
I am so thankful that you are living there, though we do not know each other. I would have loved to do what you are doing when I was your age, but I chose to marry and stay in the States instead. But, by God's grace, I am now taking short-term missions trips! : )
I noticed that you call Pastor Cayetano and Vilma's daughter Damaris. We called her by the name Eunice, but I know that many Hondurans are called by both their first and middle names, not necessarily together. I believe the boys are Kevin and Isaías Alberto?
Please give my saludos and muchas bendiciones to Cayetano and Vilma, and also to Eduardo and María Jesús.
Is there any chance you might come to La Joya with April next month?
Love and prayers for you and the Catrachos!
Solana
Me gust Copán Hi!
I'm a friend of April's. I am preparing for my 7th short-term missions strip to Honduras. The first 4 were to Copán where we worked with Pastor Cayetano and Pastor Victor Manuel in Santa Rita as well as Pastor Nahún and Pastor Francisco in Copán Ruinas. ¡¡Que Dios te bendiga muy ricament por tu trabajo y ministerio en Honduras!!
Hi!!! Anna! I hope u are feeling better by now. Are the kids doing better for you? Not much happening here...no overtime yet. I will keep praying for your lungs!!! I hope it is nothing serious :o I miss u and can't wait to here from u again! Love, Erin
Thanks!!! Hi there! Thank you so much for the suggestion!!! How are you??? I am good, just working away....you know, churches here do that kind of thing, fund raisers, but for some reason our church has not done that. I will have to suggest that to them. I think it is a wonderful idea. When I get back this summer we will have to hang out and talk Spanish!!!
ANNA!!! Hi Girl!!! Oh so good to see you while you were home!!!! I'm going to keep praying for you as you finish up the last several months. And I'll see you in February! OK? OH, and it was WONDERFUL getting to meet your family too! :) Tell them I say thanks, and I loved the HONDURAN FOOD!!! You're the best!
Hey! Hope you get better soon! I'm so glad you were able to stop and see me while you were home. I am so jealous of you and all you get to do. hehe. I wish I could travel a bit...maybe someday. :) Can't remember if I told you or not but we have some missionaries down there...I can't remember their names though. I gotta remember to look that up when I go to church this coming Sunday. Our church usually does a trip down there every year to help out with a building project for those missionaries but I've never been able to go because of either work and then the baby of course. Wish I could go sometime but I'm not much of a builder so probably wouldn't be much help. Anyways...take care and can't wait till you are able to come back for good! -Jessica
Fund Raiser...??? When I was in Peru people would have parrilladas, or polladas, or cuilladas (just keep it easy and call it a parrillada)... any way, it was basically a BBQ. People do them all the time to raise money for a new roof, or whatever. The family spends the whole day before preparing all the food, and then they spend the whole day of cooking it all. That day, they sell... basically entrance tickets. Every ticket gets you a plate of food. (There was also a LOT of beer too, but I think it could be successful even without that ; )
hi!! April, I just looked at your blog....wow!!! You are having so much fun right now!!! I haven´t contacted the schools here, I have been a little tight on "pisto" so I am just taking things easy right now. After Christmas I want to get started with lessons though. I miss you, but thank you for your encouragement and help! I daily use the supplies you gave me at the end of your trip!!!! lots of love, anna
talk about living in paradise! You live in a very beautiful place my friend! It's so nice to hear about your friends and how you're growing as a teacher! Plus, I'd say you should eventually go into some free lace photography...your pictures are gorgous!
Hi Anna!!!! Love hearing of life back "home"in Honduras! :) Glad things are settling down ... but i know there's always struggles. Did you contact either of the Spanish schools in Copan? I miss learning spanish. :) Right now I'm visiting a super-good friend in Germany for 3 weeks, so am trying to learn some deutsch. je je je it's fun but slow-going! I love you and am praying for you! vOS SOS MUY ESPECIAL! :)
fabulous! Oh Anna!! This is fabulous! I'm so glad you're connected with this church! And I know that is SO special for them!
Pray that I can come back to visit early next year!!!
I love you!
April
Nice boy to girl ratio Wow, you'll have your hands full, but just keep going, be firm, and if one strategy doesn't work, stop, see what small thing could be modified, and go from there. Also, ask around with the teachers - if you can, go and observe the ones noted for good classroom management, and steal ideas.....one thing that is key - establish your routines and expectations NOW, and then stick to them. You'll do great!
WHat a wonderful group of kids!! Anna
It looks like you have a great group of children to train up. It'e exciting to hear how things are falling in place for you. I will continue to pray for you and your students!
Praying for you! Thinking of you and praying for you! Hope all goes well! It's sounds like such fun...wish I could be a teacher, but I'm not much for actually "instructing" people. :) Take care and stay safe!
Sams Club will never be the same! Hi Anna, Praise God you made it. I viewed Jeanies e mail to you and knew you were just dying to hear from me :-). I have to get use to not seeing your smile at Sams or standing in a long line just to give you a hard time. I am glad you are in Honduras though. What an incredible place! I really enjoyed the couple weeks I was there 2 years ago. I know God is going use you to reach the boys and girls of Honduras. Stay strong, and close to your Savior. We are praying for you.
Anna!!! I'm so glad you finally made it!! I can't wait to see you again...and in Santa Rita!!! There are so many people I want you to meet! I should be back there the 16th for a couple days. We'll do lunch or coffee or whatever! Love you! April
