Thanks, and good point I was really inspired by what you had to say as well, my blogs don't even come close to your's Nic.
As for the future traveling, you don't have to deny your kids from seeing their grandparents. Maybe if you found ways to cut your impact in other areas it would balance out. It's the weekend getaways to Belize and stuff that should be stopped.
The struggle Hi Andrew,
I'm glad your home safe and your mom can stop worrying (for now). It's been a pleasure to read your blog and I appreciate your willingness to struggle with the answers your seeking. It's not just the wealth that allows us to travel, it's also the "nomad" spirit. I am quite happy at home with Tim and the doggies. I do like to read and watch travel shows or blogs. So, maybe the best thing is to delegate a certain number of people that are allowed to travel. They would be responsible for bringing the world to the rest of us by video stream. We could call it ABC or NBC, something like that.
So in other words, keep on trekking, you are independant news source to me.
Great journey, great blog Andrew - I'm really stoked on your blog entries. I like what you did, i like how you processed it. You're helping me stay connected to the things I realized out there, and we should probably hang out one of these days.
But, you're also depressing me. Hell, I'm marrying an African lady, and we're not gonna cut off either set of granparents from any future little-ones. Maybe I should learn to sail...
Bus robbers Dude. The bus robbery only happens on busses with lots of tourists (or only tourists) on them--especially busses to and from the south and busses that were booked from Khao San Rd. If you want a cheap, safe bus ride, find a bus that only has Thai people on it. Trust me. They get the best busses anyway.
wish i was there Look's like fun and aventure to the max Hopefully, next time i'll go with you.Hope to see you soon ,here in the Keys or up in Washington.Take care, G

It is so different than here and so fascinating, I LOVE the pics. Sorry the camera broke, but take reg pics and bring them home. We miss you and will be happy to see you and hear first hand about your travels. Loren leaves for Australia this evening. He is excited to see his kids. I am sure they are excited too...take care honey, enjoy and stay in touch. Love Lots and Always, Auntie
Just wait'll you get home The phrase, "every street looks like one you walked down in days past" will never be so meaningful as when you're back on State Street. Sedro is way lamer than Thailand.
Peace-
That river got expensive! Dude, I think it was only 20,000 kip when I did the river. Maybe even 12,000! You got the high-season rip-oof, I do believe... How much are they charging you for opium teas?

Safe Travels Little Brother It has made me so happy to have had you living in Australia near and with my children. I send all my best wishes and thoughts your way. Keep your head on your shoulders and stay safe~ and have the time of your life. These are the moments you will remember when you're old and gray and you're a great uncle... God I'm jealous little brother- stuck in Northwest Washington all over again, while you "live the free life of a rover". Peace and Love Andrew; and make SURE to keep in touch with mom!
back up plan I've enjoyed the hell out of following Nic Nakis' travels on here, and now I wish you the best of luck on yours. If shit hits the fan, however, I can send you a nice Canadian passport that should keep you out of trouble.
I'm 25 and from Washington State in the Pacific Northwest of the United States.
I just lived in Australia for eight months, finishing my degree in environmental science and spent some time with my neice and nephew. The last couple months were spent working to save up for a trip to Southeast Asia.
This will tell my story.... full info
