Paris. First destination in Western Europe after London. It sounds kinda sad doesnt it? Been in London for over 2 months now, but this is actually my first time venturing into another eu country. I could only afford the bus, so got myself a euroline return ticket for £38, which was quite alright i think. I like taking euroline buses. The fun part was the ferry from Dover across the English Channel to Calais, then on the way back, taking the ultra long train which probably fits at least 50 vehicles in it via the channel tunnel back to UK. Sigh.. back in London again... sank into depression for a couple of days. Only saw the boys for a few hours the day I arrived, they're off to Italy for Easter at their aunt's. Lucky kids... just been back less than a week from their ski holiday in Austria. I really wanna go away for 3 days while they're not around. Spent ages on the net searching... dismayed to find buses to Amsterdam and Paris all full. Thought of renting a car and driving around the country but the companies are either closed coz it's Bank Holiday today or the cars [View Full Entry]

Right, third time in Istanbul this trip, really have to make the most out of it. I've got 2 days before I head back to London. Headed straight for the Blue Mosque and Aya Sofya after checking into a hostel (it was the first time Sam ever shared room with two other complete strangers, took me a while to beg him to stay!) Sam headed straight for the bed instead. Like seriously, sometimes I question his desire to travel, he spends more time sleeping than anything! At about lunch time, my instinct told me someone back at the backpackers' probably starving. [View Full Entry]

After spending 1/2 day in Pamukkale, we booked for our ride to Selchuk on a private van. Selchuk is only about 3 hours away from Pamukkale. But because we did a long detour via Aydin (supposed to pick someone up but that someone didnt show up) and Kusadasi (dropped most of the people in the van off), it took us about 4 hours to get there. Stayed in a guesthouse called Dreams, which was a 4-storey building painted baby pink and purple, with synthetic turf covering the front patio and bushes upon bushes of artificial plants that might even harbour malarial [View Full Entry]

We took the overnight bus to Denizli on Monday night, so glad to finally leave Bursa. Had dinner at a newly opened kebab joint just before I boarded the bus, and it gave me a really bad stomach (will neva eat in 1-week old restaurants ever!!). Started vomitting on the bus while everyone was getting ready to sleep, but the stinking puke probably kept everyone awake. I only had 1 plastic bag to throw up into, and after about 3 hours, you can pretty much imagine how full the bag was with puke. As with my previous experience, a puking marathon [View Full Entry]

Back in Istanbul. Still waiting for a call from Sam, who's supposed to meet me in Istanbul last night! As usual, something bizarre must have happened, like missing his flight to Turkey or something. The last time he didnt call was when he went into coma after an accident! I couldnt do anything without a confirmation from him, whether to check into a room or not. Dropped my bag at a friend's friend's travel agency and headed to the Topkapi Palace, aka Ottoman empire's central. Most of the sultans ruled from here, until a rather flamboyant one built the european-styled Dolmabahce [View Full Entry]

Coming to Turkey was really a last minute plan. My initial plan was to spend a week in Tunisia. But at the eleventh hour, due to unforeseen circumstances (involving someone getting drunk and falling off the stairs, lucky to sustain no fractures), I had to postpone my holiday and ended up coming to Turkey instead. Almost had a nervous breakdown before the trip, so much to do yet so little time. On Friday, finally decided it was going to be Turkey so did a search on the net and found a reasonably priced air ticket, booked for it later that evening, [View Full Entry]

When asked to select a continent for the location of this blog, I was puzzled.. should I click Europe or Asia? Well..Turkey's listed in Europe as well as Asia (also in Middle East !!! lol). I'll go for Europe since I arrived first in Ataturk airport and it's located in the European side of Istanbul. I'm only uploading some photos taken in Istanbul and Fethiye. Couldnt be stuffed straining my brain writing a journal right now :p Only been to these two places anyways. Am stucked in Bursa now waiting for someone. Will then...maybe... travel to Cappadocia in central Turkey and [View Full Entry]

I dont know much bout football and am not a great football fan either. But it was an overwhelming experience to be at Stamford Bridge for the Chelsea v Man City match... not having to pay for the ticket!! It was sorta like Max's bd present I got to accompany him. It's quite addictive I must say. Wouldnt mind going every weekend now :) Hope I get to go to the Chelsea v Man Utd match this month with the borrowed season pass but unlikely... no Chelsea fan would miss that match... even for the world's yummiest choc brownie top with [View Full Entry]
