Holy Cairo, Lloyd and I arrived in Cairo bright and early at 2am. We were very unprepared for perhaps the scariest taxi ride of out lives. Speeding through the city at speeds reaching 80 mph, we tried to grab for the seat belts but were felt with a terrible sinking feeling after realising there were non. Our driver Mustafa could only laugh as he saw the terror in our faces. I think driving would be a lot safer if A. People actually drove with their lights on B. They had traffic lanes. C. Drivers weren't completely insane Unfortunately we could not [View Full Entry]

Meraba (hello in turkish) For the last couple of days I felt liek I was living with Barney Rubble and the whole gang. My 11 hour bus ride was worth it. I checked into my "Cave Hostel," where for $4 a night I got a reasonably nice bed. I decided to not waste any time and take the full day tour even though I had only slept about 3 hours on the bus. Though I was extremely tired the tour was well worth it. It gave me a really nice over view of the Cappadocia area which is massive and consists [View Full Entry]

Chill Out!!!! Middle East » Turkey » Mediterranean » Olympos
Ok Ok So the last time I spoke to you all we were living on a boat in the mediteranean. Not bad, eh? We ended up taking a cruise along the Turqoise coast of Turkey for three days. We were accompanied by our crew, Camil (the cook) and Ilyas (our captain) and a great group of , Ausies, Americans and one german chick. Four 4 days and three nights all we did was cruise around in the boat, eat amazing meals and swim in little secluded bays along the coast. At night we would throw on some jams and rock out. No Bologni in Turkey Middle East » Turkey » Aegean » Selçuk
Hello Friends Lloyd and I left İstanbul Early Wednesday morning to Gallipolli. A battle ground where Australia and New Zealand fought the Turks in WWI. It was a touching story of how the Australians and the Turks realized they were equals and became friends and stopped fıghting after 250.000 people died...WOW We then headed to Troy for an hour and took a tour of the town. Nıne dıfferent Troys exısted wıthın a 3000 year tıme span. Thıs is supposedly the site of where the famous battle took place. We then headed south to Ephesus [View Full Entry]

To start off, Turkey is amazing besides a) people constantly baggering you to buy useless stuff. I mean do I look like I need a turkish rug? No. and b.) you have to be really carefull about anyone who is overly friendly and wants to help you. The other day we were trying to get into the blue mosque (the first picture) and this guy in a suit came up to us and started chatting with us telling us that the mosque was closed because it was prayer time and that maybe if we went to the side entrance he could [View Full Entry]

Ok Lloyd and I decided last minute to skip Bulgaria head east and go to Bucharest, Romania. This town is really cool and I strongly recommend checking it out if you're ever in the vicinity. We stayed at the Elvis hostel where the girls at the reception were fun and super helpful. Lloyd and I decided to stay here for three days and really take in the city. We went out two nights and met a ton of locals. They have a rather pesimistic view on life, but they are really nice to talk to. WE took a tour of the [View Full Entry]

Dober Dahn friends, Well well our last few days in Croatia were spent very well indeed. After leaving the island of Brach we went to a Davis cup match ( Team tennis semifinals Croatia vs Russia) Croatia won which was really monumental because they have never made it to the finals....so much energy in the stadium and great tennis. They all sang and danced after match... We then headed to the island of Korculla...We again met a crazy guy offering us a room...he said it was only 300 meters from town...it turned out to be about 2 kilomters...oh and by the [View Full Entry]

I'll start by explaining the title of this entry. So far whenever we ask for directions we get the response "200 meters that way" I swear everything in Croatia is 200 meters away. It has become such a frequent response that I can't help but laugh everytime I hear that response. We began our time in Croatia in the north along the coast in a little town called Opatija (O-Pat- Ya). This was a really nice introduction to Croatia. You forget how much you love the ocean when you are away from it for a while. We took a swim [View Full Entry]
