Walk like an Egyptian

Well hi there again guys, Well, what can we say about Egypt? It’s totally different to anywhere else we’ve ever been before and it’s probably one of the best places we’ve been too. We started off with the Pyramids and Sphinx, weaving our way through the traffic in our van quite amazingly. Two lanes become four and there’s only ever centimeters between cars. We took the overnight train down to Aswan which, to say the least, was an experience. Having never done an overnight train before we didn’t really know what to expect and Egypt probably wasn’t the best place to try this for the first time. Second class consisted of people, chickens, you know the normal stuff but thankfully we were in first class, so we had really big, comfy seats with plenty of room. ... read more

A little bit of everything really

Well hi all, We have just arrived in Egypt today which is completely different to anywhere else we have been on this trip but we thought we would catch you up on a few things since we last did a blog back in Austria. (Seems such a long time ago!) Since then, we've been skiing on the Hintertux Glacier. That was an experience let's put it that way. It definitely wasn't a slope for beginners and as there was a white-out it made even more difficult to ski and board. There was one beginner slope, but you had to go down what Zoe thought resembled a cliff face to get to it. And not being able to see the bottom of that cliff face freaked her out just a bit. Poor Dave had to carry his ... read more

Well hi all again, Glad to hear everyone back home seems to be fit and well. Well we have been a bit all over the place doing lots of different things since we last did a blog. We left Italy and headed across to Nice in France and explored the coastline there. Went to Monaco which is ultra rich, filled with big expensive boats, skyscrapers (which is unique over here) and of course Ferraris. We did a booze cruise in and around St. Tropez with our Irish guide who was classic and again saw just how rich some people can be. Helicopters on boats, multi-million Euro homes owned by all the celebs (including an 18 million Euro holiday home for Bryan Adams, Mum) and kings and queens over here. After that we headed to Switzerland and ... read more

Ups and downs in Portugal and Italy

Well hi all. We have finally got around to doing a blog so we can share some our experiences with you from the last couple of weeks. And we have certainly had our share of ups and downs during this time. Here's what we've been up to. It all started all happy and smiles in Tarifa with a beautiful sunset and relaxing evening of dinner and drinks. The next morning, things were to change. Dave awoke extremely itchy which he soon realised was due to the million or so bed bug bites he had on his arms, back and legs. A refund from the hostel for our night's accommodation was a bonus, but it just went towards our washing as we had to wash all clothes and items that had been in our bags and of ... read more

Hi all, Well get ready for a big blog. Our free internet connection is working great guns today so we decided to make the most of it and catch up on the last couple of weeks. After leaving Deb and Bruce we headed across to Switzerland (we are going back there in September). Headed to Bern for a bit of a relax (except for that bike ride) then it was off to Geneva on the train. Our flight to Barcelona was delayed by three hours meaning that we spent about 5 hours at the airport, but that´s all part of it. That puzzle book you gave me Deb came in handy - pity I couldn´t really do any of them. Ahh! Barcelona wasn´t a bad place - it was hot and we overate at lunch too ... read more

Hi all, Just putting a couple more photos on from the trip with Bruce and Deb. We finally found a semi-decent internet connection in our hostel in Tarifa, down the bottom of Spain. Thanks again for the comments we have got from people. Nice to know who is staying in touch with what we´re up to. Loved the comment from Ava, Belinda. You said she was advanced but we had no idea she could use a computer so well already!! All in all, it was great to catch up with the folks. We had a great time and had lots of laughs along the way which is always good. The nine days went so quick which was a shame but it's on to other new adventures I guess. Thanks again for coming over. Hope all went ... read more

Hi all it is Dave´s turn for the blog. I think im a lot more mature than Zoe and won´t bag my travel partner for the whole blog. I will take the high road. Well where to start? We finally made it to Bordeaux after a 10 hour bus trip to Paris and a 3 hour train ride down to Bordeaux to meet the parents - all worth it. They had the car ready to go, very impressed. They even got a free upgrade which included a GPS. The life saver of the trip made it lot easier to find our way around without ripping each other heads off. The next day we were off to the biggest sand dune we have ever seen - massive. Too far to walk to the beach for my liking. ... read more

Hi Folks, Well, it's Zoe doing this blog as Dave is off doing the washing (and isn't very happy about it, but who would be really). Convinced him we will swap next time...maybe. Had some good luck this week when the camera broke because Zoe dropped it (I thought it was shockproof - yep right) and then got strawberries all over it which probably didn't help especially after getting chocolate on it all last week so we had to invest in a new one. Dave wasn't too fussed either - he's only mentioned the new Olympus camera 30,000 times since we've been over here - did him a favour I say. Ok, back to the blog. Stayed in Salzburg for four nights which was nice and relaxing. Didn't get the greatest sleeps there as every night ... read more

Hi all, Well it hasn't been long since we did our last blog but we had a spare day and we found a cheap internet cafe (50 cents per half hour) so we are making the most of it and doing another quick blog. We are in Salzburg in Austria at the moment and it is 30 degrees each day so it's nice and warm. We will put up photos of Salzburg on another blog as we are going to the lakes tomorrow which are surrounded by the Austian Alps so wait for the next blog to see the awesome photos of that. Prague - what can we say about Prague? It was like a postcard - beautiful. Just what you would expect it to be. Everywhere you looked there were beautiful buildings. Pity the photos ... read more
