Prologue; So let me begin by saying that I haven’t written a word about my life and travels in over eight months now. India (July) Although my later experiences in India exceeded my first in both shocking and unbelievable ways, I will still always remember my first few minutes in India as an adult, I had been as a child but it was a whole new world walking out into the sea of touts standing on the dirt road outside Kolkata airport. India (August-September) Our bus left Kathmandu early in the morning and we didn’t cross into India until late that night. We couldn’t find any cheap accommodation at the border so we caught a local bus to a town about two hours south called Ghorkana. We spent the night there and the following day we took the train even further south to Varanasi. We always traveled in the local sections of the trains because it was cheapest and usually a whole lot more interesting. Thursday 22nd May 2008 After breakfast, it was time to arrive in Osaka. We all lined up with our bags and made our way off the boat and through customs. Customs were a breeze, surprisingly. All i had to do was get my photo taken and my finger prints taken, they didn't even check my bag. We walked outside and we were finally officially in Japan, a lifelong dream of mine come true. Saturday 3rd May 2008 We slept through our alarm. I woke up 20 minutes after we had to be at the travel agent to get the bus to China. I could already tell that this was going t be a long day. A guy from our hotel came knocking a few minutes later to inform us that our travel agent had stopped by to remind us to be there at 7, We grabbed all of our stuff together and i ran out the door and ran all the way to the travel agent to find no bus, i was told to [View Full Entry]

Wednesday 6th February 2008 For the most part today was spent tying up all my loose ends, buying last minute necessities and packing up all of my stuff. To mention it all would be boring and pointless so i will skip straight to the flight. We flew with British Airways direct from Sydney to Bangkok. As far as the flight goes it was pretty standard, watching movies and listening to music to pass the 9 hour flight time. Friday 4th April 2008 Ok, so we are officially not going to Japan, which sucks more than words can describe but i straight up can't afford it so i guess its just the way it has to be. I just thought i would cover that base before i went on with my entry. It took us 32 hours total to get to Siem Reap in northern Cambodia from Koh Samui off the south coast of Thailand. Thursday 10th April 2008 The day started at 4:30 am, we got out of bed and grabbed our bags and started walking in search of a tuk tuk to take us to the bus station. It took us about 20 minutes to find one and he drove us until he ran out of petrol so he passed us on to one of his friends to finish the journey. We got dropped at the Russian Market and walked from there. The bus ride was comfortable and nice, the 6 hours went by quickly and getting through the border and customs was easy. [View Full Entry]
