WOW.. again time has ´flown´fast ..as in a Star Trek movie. In my previous entry I was returning to San Diego from Ensenada. Since then I have travelled (by bus) from Tijuana to Mazatlan .. a 26 hour journey. It was a painfully long journey but it was like coming out of a fog into the light. In Mazatlan I found a quite little island called Isla de la Piedra where I intended to stay for 2 nights before heading on to Mexico City. Hmmm.. that was the intention but somehow I ended up staying for 5 weeks. I obviously had a great time. The sun was hot.. the food cheap and I met so many really beautiful people. I finally reached Mexico... only for a few days this time.. then back to San Diego to finish working on my web site. The journey into Mexico was very straight forward. I have heard that it is easy walking in that direction across the border but that is an understatement.. it felt just like walking out of a football stadium, through the turnstiles and into the busy streets. The only people who look at you or talk to you are the taxi drivers on the other side. From there I took an ABC coach to Ensenada. The coach was very clean and comfortable with reclining chairs and video screens showing the movie 'Taken' starring Liam Neeson. I know it's a very over used cliche but .. wow time flies. In fact flying would be too slow, the movement of time is often more akin to the transporter system in 'Star Trek' . Hmmm... Anyway my departure date came and went and when it came ..I went. It was an incredibly strange and stressfull experience giving away everything I had accumulated over the years.. but when the plane took off ..with all my worldly possessions on board stuffed into a rucksack and a suitcase ..besides feeling the need to sleep for a year.. I felt a quality of freedom I had never experienced before! Hmmm... So here I am on the other side of the pond in Maryland US on the first leg of my endless journey. Hi.. In March 2010 I will set off on a slow walkabout around the world. This is a dream I have had since 6 years old and finally my body is able to follow my mind. My start point is London UK. From here I cross the pond to the US.. and then work my way through Latin America aiming at the Amazon and beyond. My intention is for this walkabout will take at least 5 years. Wow.. I am so excited that some nights I can't sleep. (3 more weeks) Happi days... read more
