Hello All, Hope you are well and looking forward to us returning home. After the boys dropped off 'Sally' we had brekkie, packed up our luggage (so grateful to have the lads, well their suitcases he he... ;) ) to offload some of our baggage and headed by Bart to the RV rental to pick up our 25ft long motorhome for the next 8 nights - we have called her Winnie! and after a boring half an hour dvd that we were made to watch and a heap of paperwork we finally got on the road with a free football, care bear mascot and most importantly alchopops that some last renters had left behind - the lady behind the counter was really friendly :) Made our way to a Yosemite National Park but it started to ... read more
Hey! Arrived in San Francisco late Thursday evening and settled in to our hostel. On Friday we headed to Union Square to check out the local shops, even though they were mostly shops like Louis Vuitton and way out of our price range so we settled for a starbucks and sat people watching. In the evening we went to the recommended local pub the Edinburgh Castle. On Saturday we had a lazy breakfast, read our books and did laundry before walking to the Bart system and meeting AJ at the airport. He was very tired on arrival so we had an early night after catching up. Sunday was spent being tourists and visiting places like the Coit tower, the Lombard curvy road, Ghiradelli chocolate shop and the Fishermans Wharf for lunch. On Monday we hired bikes ... read more
Its freezing...well atleast compared to Fiji!! And Libby isn't happy as she was poorly sick (and not from alcohol for once it was too hot and made her dizzy) at the airport and left her Henley's jumper in the ladies : ( what made me laugh was that she only realised once we were sitting in our seats on the aeroplane so she actually asked the air hostess to let her off the plane to go and look in the toliets - and they did!! ha ha ha ha!! ok so you had to be there! On Monday we headed to Downtown LA - wouldn't recommend it unless you like getting hounded by homeless people but at least we've been there and seen what it was like. On Tuesday we went to Hollywood and had an ... read more
Hello! Well luckily we are in LA (thanks to KC : ) considering we thought we were flying on the 2nd March!! While I was napping in our hostel I was rudely awoken by the dustman....I mean Libby who was having a complete stress/fit waving our travel documents at me and yes Mrs. Coleman she did swear but I gave her a good talking to so don't worry : ) What Libby was trying to tell me was that we actually flew to LA tonight not tomorrow as we so thought! After I had calmed Libby down we franctically packed (although we had 6 hours before we needed to be at the airport!!) and went in search of our laundry, hoping we would get it back in time! Arrived in LA and got the free shuttle ... read more
Bula! Arrived back in Nadi and decided to go to Smuggler's Cove for dinner, a hostel next door to ours. Food was cheap and delicious! And we also got a free glass of wine each - we won a bet with an old dude - he said we couldn't polish it off between us, fool he obviously doesn't know us very well! (we also hadn't eaten since breakfast so there was plenty of room, although Lib did slip a bit to his dog twice who was sat under our table - I do not know how I kept a straight face : ) They were harmless old folk but after hearing the same stories from them 3 times we had to get out of there! Luckily there were some English/Scottish/Irish guys on the next table who ... read more
Today we headed to Bounty Island, a smaller and quieter Island but very very beautiful and exactly what we need to chill out. The Island is where celebrity Love Island was filmed and we can understand why from the amazing views. On the first day we chilled out by the pool which is right next to the beach and overlooks the sea and all surrounding islands - absolutely amazing : ) The food on this island is brilliant much better than Beachcomber - Libby has even eaten Lamb and Beef!!!!! I knew she'd be eating it after spending 3 months with me ; ) and the staff are really friendly - if not a little crazy : ) Woke up the next morning bright and breezy and full of energy so decided to kayak around the ... read more
Bula! Today we headed to Beachcomber Island for 2 nights via a very small water taxi that arrived over an hour late to pick us up - it was on Fiji time apparently! Everyone is very chilled out, makes a nice change : ) Arrived to a typical Fiji welcome and were greeted by a very camp Fijian guy called Clive along with cocktails. Some poor guys even carried our rucksacks for us : ) We were showed around the Island and then we checked in to our 84 bed dorm! Not too bad except I can't swing a cat around my bed - Not that I would obviously swing a cat around my bed - sorry Coleman gang! Second best thing (first is lying on the beach) to this week in Fiji is that we ... read more
Hey or should we say Bula! Arrived in Nadi, wow! Checked in to our hostel, Aquarius which is great backs on to the beach with amazing views : ) Had out first swing on the hammocks (when we eventually worked out how to get in them without falling out!) watched the sunset and then chilled out with a glass of wine to plan the week ahead. Hope all is ok xx ... read more
Hello All, Hope you are okay and all planning to have a good weekend :) We arrived in Auckland late this afternoon just in time for a last weekend of fun in New Zealand! Will be so sad to say goodbye to this amazing country, if all of my family fancy moving over here to live that would be great ;) We have vouchers for the Base Bar tonight and they are putting on a free bar tab of $1000 for all the Kiwi experience backpackers that have now come to the end of their journey with them so that willl be definitely be our 1st port of call... been upgraded to the Sanctuary dorm again and I know that the free use of fluffy towels is fab but I much prefer not to be stuck ... read more
Hey Hey, Oh dear - we feel a little bit fuzzy this morning and in need of greasy food so Mc Donalds it was! After that we went for some retail therapy down Queens Street (well I did, J was not happy to be just window shopping, bless her :( ) until we hit the harbour where we turned round and shopped on the other side of the street, were out for about 4 hours! We then decided that we should go the cinema at the Imax just up the road so went to check out all of the films and pre-bought our tickets for the 8.50pm showing of 'he's just not that into you' - really good, it was a great chick flick that had us laughing and crying... ;) then luckily we were planning ... read more
