We have varied and vast musical tastes , we listen to most genres , one in particular has always held a soft spot ..... Country..... I (Scibe ) love bluegrass and Modern, Jo who plays the Harmonica has leaning toward folksy , Harmonica driven stuff. We have our favourites and are pleased to report that all the talent there is very accomodating towards their listeners, I have always loved Melinda Schnieder's music and Jo has a torch , as does a few of the ladies , for Lee Kernaghan. We had no trouble getting those stars of country to sign our [View Full Entry]

Australias premier Zoo is located on the western plains of New South Wales, we passed through Bathurst , Wellington enroute to the famous Dubbo Zoo. One stop over is the Bathurst Gaol , Ned Kelly was held here for a period of time, The sandstone facade is great for its craftsmanship and sense of intimidation as you near it. We suggest a stop at the Wellington Japanese gardens, Wellington is not the wettest of town , so, to see a manicured and lush garden that is visually spectacular + welcome releif from the hot western plains. The Dubbo Zoo is another [View Full Entry]

Sydney

Oceania » Australia » New South Wales » Sydney
We love Sydney, We arrived well rested and relaxed after a 3 month tour of all the beaches on the East coast of New South Wales, We had received some bad reports of the City , only to find that as usual it is in the eyes of the beholder. So many Australians visit for a day or a week and base an opinion on the place from that, we spent six weeks in the Sydney environs and loved it , It was a little busy and rushed but we soon got over that and learnt to skirt on the fringes [View Full Entry]

Now you see it!!!!
We left Sydney two days after New Years Eve, what a night, the temperature was a warm 40 degrees and we were sweltering , we had been staying for the night with a friendly Sydneyite, so we said our farewells , called into our favourite Indian at Manly for our last Vindaloo and left, we got to the Blue Mountains easily after climbing a gradual but steep road for an hour. We were so thrilled to see these iconic Australian formations, We stayed at the viewing platform so as to get all the changing colours as the sun set, we were [View Full Entry]

We, using our Camps 3 book, went down the coast from the Gold Coast using the book. We more than often enjoyed better camps through being a bit inventive and thinking laterally. Lets just say that we are positioned in front a block of oceanfront units / apartments, who is not to say that we are not visiting a tenant, Once this doubt has been instilled we have never, , been challenged. I must qualify this approach to free camping by saying that we have a full solar set up and hot shower and kitchen facilities , to a Van traveller, [View Full Entry]

A free camp we found at Currumbin, Beachfront and you can walk to the water.
We have moved in to the Gold Coast and what a hive of fantastic beaches , 1/2 price dining , Free camping and people watching. We quite often spend our days just drinking coffee after our morning swims and watching the ppl walking by. To this most will require a few things one is the coins for the coffee, secondly, and most importantly is the abililty to just relax and allow the world to pass without trying to overtake it all the time. We can claim the fortunate title of low level heart attack potential victims, All through the power of [View Full Entry]

A lot of things come and go, One thing remains for us is our love of Australian Monaros, for the uninitiated they are our equivilent to the American Mustang or whatever fast car you wish to compare. This will be the only material possession that we will refer to from our previous lives, to be honest it is the only thing we miss! I have a year of belated entries so i shall press on into them, This blog allows comments so any questions can be posted here and well answer them as we go. [View Full Entry]

Life Is A Highway
Life Is A Highway
Here we go. Stay tuned.
Well we have all the work done and the scary head space of selling of all the material stuff that we had accrued over the last three years of suburbia. It was very cathartic to cleanse ourselves of these things, viva the E bay , I applaude all travellers that go without the safety net of a back up plan. Well here we are now a year into our trip trying to backtrack to keep it going from start to finish. As a sneak preview i shall tell that we are budget conscience and stayed in only 5 caravan parks for [View Full Entry]

WhyWait
WhyWait
We chose Why Wait for the philosophy... ' Why wait till you are so old you cant do it all !! '
When it comes to a purchace of all thingsgreat and small ,especially our first home,we are very methodical about it.. We sold our dream car ,a HJ 2 door coupe Monaro 327 chev to help with the purchase of WhyWait. No more speeding tickets for us...lol We searched from our back yard all the way to the other side of the country and the suburbs inbetween,we looked at many and we realised as we went along that we needed a unit that Dean could stand up in, We also needed these things ; A shower, Solar Power, Innerspring Mattress, L.C.D TV, [View Full Entry]
