UK 2013 Buxton Village

Original plan was to visit Lyme Park but it was closed so looked at map and said let39s try this route and we came to Buxton. In a valley but it must be a wealthy one by the looks of the homes and the fact that the place used to have its own Baths and a giant palatial hotel The Palace. Several big homes are now used by solicitors consultants etc. None were converted to model railways.

UK 2013 Leeds City

The sun came out the wind blew strongly from the south and the rain stayed away as we walked from the Bewley39s Hotel into the heart of Leeds with a stop at a Starbucks for breakfast. Leeds is a very busy and one would say one of the neater cities we have been to in the UK. The population is very mixed multicultural and their shops range from the low cost to the exclusive. We saw 10 watches a

So we line up with two vouchers and asked for two seniors and child. The ticket person said the child would have to be full price because we had no voucher. A very kind lady next to us said she had a spare in her car and gave it to us. But wait there is more she was one pound short

This was a fabulous three day stay at Newcastle. Photos will be edited lated but will show the hotel Copthorne on the river and several shots of either the train or inside the train. Would love to show a video of a stop we had and my cider glass kept sliding from right to left showing how steep the track was curved.
2013 UK a tale of two ladies

Spent a lovely day with a lovely lady Jennifer Rimmer. We first met Jennifer in 2005 when we went to the Chester Christadelphian meeting and we have seen her at various congregations on subsequent visits. However we missed seeing her on our visit to Sale Manchester and sp she rang and invited us around for morning tea and lunch. We discovered she could not get out her roadway due to snow and i

Arrived here last Saturday and with great joy and open arms were met by the family. Had coffee or similar with Paul and Belinda while Erin was at LIPA Liverpool Institute for Performing Arts. Apparently Paul McCartney ex Beatle has something to do with it.Sunday we drove to Manchester Sale for our church ecclesia and had a nice time. It was followed by a communal lunch and during this time

UK 2013 Skegness to Liverpool

Left Skegness at around 10.00 a.m. with some trepidation because of weather forecast for snow and holdups to traffic. We went and bought a blanket and some food biscuits and one bottle of water in case. The snow on the cars and housetops was our morning greeting and then as we left the city area the snow provided those scenes that you only have seen on postcards or movies. Fields covered in

This is all about the weather. COLD and wind blowing through to the bones and SNOW on the cars from overnight. The Hotel is the best BB we have experienced in England and would love to come back in the summer. Remember the Kildare Hotel no doctor available.

Decided after being told it was worthwhile to head to Norwich. Walked around town through shops malls lanes parks and found what we thought was the cathedral. It was a cathedral not THE cathedral. Nonetheless was a good experience even if very cold.

Well we arrived safe and sound. The Emirates plane ride was fairly bumpy but sleep was enjoyed as was the myriad amounts of food. The jury is out as to whether Emirates is better than the Flying Kangaroo. Seats were ok for views but comfort is on par with QANTAS. The trip to Dubai was overnight so not much to see took off over Glenelg and crossed Eyre Penin between Pt Lincoln and Cowell tracki
