hey J - From: From China to Tibet and back
yeah you definitely should think about it. I didn't realize how vast chinese medicine is and how many things it can help aid or cure. Something I'm planning on looking seriously into when I get back to the states.

G'day G'day - From: my families in Laos
Its funny that your map of Laos kinda has a similar shape to Joni's map of Italy. Glad to hear that you're doin the thang in China, cruising toward TLG. It's gonna be an epic hike. Anyhow, I had a similar experience the other day regarding eating meat, though not nearly as exceptional. I tried a small piece of kangaroo meat. Had to do it while I'm here. Wasn't all that great, though I agree with your philosophies. Miss you.

It's always nice to find your family. Or in Italy, here your famiglia... anyways, you inspired me to finally stop procrastinating and post on my own blog. Hey... Nice... you have TWO pages for people to see the greatness of where you are. *note to readers* TWO pages of pictures.

Kendra, This was by far the best blog so far! Definitely, the universe is always on your side. All you have to do is be clear about what you want, and Ask, Believe, and Receive! As you have been powerfully demonstrating. Even with no pictures to see your beautiful face, I can tell you are very happy. Love, (Your future sister-in-law) Joni :-)

Food Poisoning. - From: 'Pirates of the New Age'
Wow. Poor guys. I learned this in my Traditional Chinese Medicine School... Anytime you have an "overactive stomach" then one thing that works is to ground up a shell (taken from any ocean) and put water in it and drink it. If you can't mash it up finely, then ground it up, soak it in hot water, and strain the shells out, and drink the tea. It "settles" the stomach. Note for next time! Joni

Ugly Beast!?! - From: Surviving Palau...not hard to do
Ooh you take that back, Joni. Not only is the hump head amazing for being so huge, I happen to think that it looks beautiful and unique. In addition, it's hermaphroditic, meaning this dominant male has a large harem, one of whom, upon his death, will grow larger, change colors and become the new dominant male. Pretty cool. So, have you taken it back yet?

Mat's long lost South African brother here... - From: taking the good with the bad
Hey Kendra, you might not remember me, but I spoke to you on Skype way back in December last year when Mat and I were in Tonsai. Are you stil a shemale? Very hot:) Got to your blog via Mat's. Mat hit me as a very strong-minded bloke, and the photo above called "a long way down" just complements my opinion of him. Cleary he has no worries about taking a leak wherever nature calls. Shame - give the man some privacy! Jokes! Hope you guys are well. Send my regards to the Matman.

Missing you - From: taking the good with the bad
hi! i've been missing you so bad lately. But you look happy and in love ;) i have been going to yoga and pilates because it makes me think of you~ and I have also been putting Clear Eyes into by third eye. (It is late in the night here, so I am forced to make dumb jokes). Yesterday at GVAC these girls were throwing that weight ball thing on the incline bench and I just kept staring at them (haha.) because that was what we used to do and I MISS YOU!! Did I say that already? Well, I am so proud of you and "white cloud" is right. You have been so lucky (minus the forged checks), but I mean hey, at college we trained in the art of getting our bank balance into the red. I was bummed I missed your call, but I am thinking of you always and tell matt to take care of my girl for me!

The River Runs Through It - From: The Low Down
I am of course talking about Rishikesh Kendra and the meandering course the Ganga takes through this town. It is a wonderful place isn't it and like you it has been central to my thoughts when in the North of India and an important focus of my travels in this incredible country. But remember:- When anyone asks you what India is like tell them it is terrible, really bad and that no one should ever visit this place. That we we can keep it for ourselves.:<) Great Blog Jonathan

hi love! you sound so vibrant, alive and thoughtful! don't have much spare time these days- lots of school, commuting to work and exhausted. i wish i were there with you; growing, learning and truly celebrating life. i suppose i am doing these things in my own way because the lessons i learned last year when i was in that same magical place have carried over into the hectic, conformed life i now live. i guess i'm just in transition- i have to put in some hours of hard work to make a life for myself that is simple and joyful. good luck in your meditation and im so happy for you! all my love, cait

Kendra, Reading this entry makes me so proud to be your friend. I miss having our deep conversations because this last one would have been good. There are not even words to describe how much your words touched me and if I had read this in a book I would have highlighted everything and saved it for you to read! I think you are in a really beautiful place in the world right now, but more importantly, are in a beautiful place in your life. Thank you for sharing and I consider myself blessed to have a friend like you.

Hey Barretts! - From: Over the hills and through the woods...
James its wonderful to hear from you all! I have had some funny thoughts and conversations in India and one in particular reminded me so much of a conversation I had with Caymus one morning...it revolved around the hierarchy of the animal kingdom and who would win say if a lion and a bear fought. Mine revolved more around a bamboon and myself, but I won't go into too much detail. Just so you know the kids are always on my thoughts and have taught me so much its not even funny. I miss them dearly, oh and also you and Jill too :) just teasing. Keep in touch and send pictures whenever you can.

Tobias Ebel's Wanderbuch - From: Over the hills and through the woods...
After learning about this German tradition that the tradesmen go through and reading Tobias' "Wanderbuch", which means traveling book and includes the mission statement, I was compelled to write it in my journal. I want to share it with you all because its a great tradition that forces people to get out of their bubble and see the world and all it has to offer. And I felt that it described much of my purposes (or most travelers for that matter) for traveling. "The possessor of this travel-passport is a companion being on her (or his in Tobias' case but they speak of women) traditional trades-journey over the term of 2 to 3 years and 1 day. She did not take to the road in order to obtain economic advantages at other places but to get acquainted with the practices of work and way of living of other people in other countries and thus improve her knowledge about her trade and extend her experience of life. (It goes on to speak to the person they meet along they way asking them to treat them with hospitality and openmindedness and to help practice the idea of agreement between nations) Once again the experiences I've gained so far and hope to continue to gain are invaluable to my life. While although I am putting off possible graduate school in which you are supposed to learn the ways of your subject and master your degree or starting working in the 'real world', I feel that what I am doing is more useful to life than any graduate school or job. Also, I am learning more ways to apply myself and deal with foreign situations more so than any mock situation created for 'real life' purposes. The reality that I am experiencing is more than any reality that I might face when I go back to the US and am supposedly living in the "real world". that thought makes me laugh.. 'the real world'

I'm so hungry - From: The Paradox of Our Age
In&Out..Son you know better than to drop those words this early into my trip! I can't be thinking about that already. :) Luckily I'm in seventh heaven here at Angad's house eating all that I can before I leave on my next adventure. The homemade Indian food is definitely something to write home about. Hot roti and naan being cooked right in front of you. Endless dishes of Dal, paneer, you name it they've got it. It's so good when it touches your lips! Anyway, enough about food, although it does always seem to be on my thoughts, how are you doing? Its so good to hear from you. Don't worry time will soon start to fly and before you know it I'll be knocking on your door waiting to celebrate your acceptance to medical school. How's SB? I miss you too and wish that you could meet me somewhere over here cause I know that you would feel the same way I've felt lately...my cup runith over. Love you
