Museum at Denniston?
Great commentary on Denniston. Wondered if the big building at Dennuston was still there- the workers hall?. It used to to be run by volunteers as a museum and had lots of interesting things. Also wondered if you visited the Coaltown Museum in Westport? A little insider knowledge ...we discovered on our trip back in March that the bush train now only operates for the rafters.

Lighthouse by sea is best
You didn’t miss much not seeing the real lighthouse. We saw it winking when we cruised in there over the summer. Will send you a photo! A visit to the old lighthouse in town which is manned by volunteers is a very interesting story and well worth the visit.

And thnak you for following us.It has been one of the very most memorable trips and although we don't say all the bad things you hear about Africa don't sometimes probably have an element of truth we can honestly say our trip didn't give us any moments that would make us regret making the trip.We even think there is more to see and perhaps in the future we will go back.

Just beautiful
He is just so beautiful! And I am using Marla oil on my face these days, so now I will think of this majestic animal every time I reach for the little bottle

No lions today and just the outline of one yesterday but the leopards at Kruger very much made up for it

Feels like I am there too!
Really, really well written Dad, feels like I am there too! So pleased that you guys are seeing so many of these animals and realising your dream....now bring on those elusive lions?!?!

Spelling error
Your label of the white hippos should read white rhinos. Hope this is helpful. My previous cryptic message wasn't picked up.

Wonderful animal pics
You've got some wonderful pictures of the animals you have seen. Move over David bring on Gretchen. Just wondering about your focus of the white rhinos or white hippos? With their horn reduced in size they could easily be mistaken for hippos. In the excitement mistakes happen. Just don't mistake a lion for an Eddie.

Pictures on the blog are stills taken from video and trying to focus up the ones chosen to make them sharper.Might take more practice.

Face plant in Chagny
I remember the incident well. This time was it the face or the nether region that suffered in the fall? Is a rubber ring on order? We remember Chagny well. Went to the Saturday market and bought wonderful umbrellas. We still have them. Hope the patient is well.

Absolutely fine.Kept an eye on her and made sure she could drink her gin and tonic,as usual, when we got to our accommodation.

You two keep safe! Definite no to picking up hitchhikes, hold each others hands on uneven terrain and keep out of "townships" (especially after dark!!!!)

Rules are rules!
Out walking in the dark? Rules are rules! Dont make us worry about you even more!!!

The lady at check in at B&B absolutely assured us Mossel Bay was safe to walk at night. The only night escapades since have been in the safari game drives each night in a land rover with a burly South African driving.
