Fresh out of uni, I fulfill plans made in years of procrastinated studying and head off for four months of living the truly budget lifestyle in India. On my own. Having never left Western Europe before. And hating Indian food. I'm sure there was logic in there somewhere...

Sadly the photos from this trip are meager in the extreme: my camera broke only 2 weeks in, and after that all I have is a few shots from my extremely poor phone camera.

This blog started, as do so many others, with an attempt to let parents and friends know what I was up to during my first ever trip outside of Western Europe: four months in India. Unfortunately, after a near miss with the bombs in Mumbai in November 2008 my mother refused to read any more blogs as they kept giving her panic attacks... My biggest joys in travel are awe-inspiring scenery, and what I would love to term 'comparative anthropology', but really just involves discoursing wildly on national/cultural characteristics.
