Hi all, This will be our last blog for our holiday in Thailand is rapidly coming to a close. We have had a great time and am not looking forward to coming home to reality. All except Lyndal who can't wait to get home to see a certain gentleman. Thailand is a beautiful country. With idyllic views at every turn, beautiful emerald green sea and white sandy beaches. Its cities and towns are bussling with people from all nationalities, different languages averywhere. New sights tobe seen, many smells (not all are very pleasant) and their electric power lines (and driving as everyone knows) are things to be seen to be believed. Last night we went to see fanta Sea which is like Disneyland except the asian version. Our tour included a meal which we had in this enormous dining room. I just cant describe the amount of poeple who sat down and had dinner. Every nationality, religion or diet requirement is catered for. And the mass of people firstly arriving then looking around, enjoying the show and then finding the numerous buses a, taxis, private transport or whatever is beyond description. It is organised chaos but somehow seems to work and people eventually get to where they want to go. The show here was once again amazing. It involved masses of entertainers, animals, trapeze artists, pyro technics. water and lighting. hi guys just thought that we'd better take the time to drop a line n tell every1 wat we've been up to :) since singapore we've flown (obviously!) to phuket... n yes it is a funny name :)! arrived here on the tuesday which added an EXTRA HOUR difference from oz time that im (lyndal) not really coping with that welll!!! after a bit of a mix up wif the hotels (ended uop not being to bad as we got to have a bit of extra time to explore patong) we were taken to our proper resort just up the hill a bit (not even mums prepared to climb this hill!!!!!) yesterday went to phi phi island where we saw the beach on which 'the beach' was filmed n then proceeded to spend the whole day ... read more

We had a very busy day on day 2 in Singapore. In the morning we headed off to Julong Bird Sanctuary. An early start but worthwhile. We were lucky enough to see a lot of different birds such as Maw Caws, Birds of Paradise and a Toucan. We went to see the show held at the auditorium and enjoyed seeing the birds walk on and off the stage without restraint and they seemed to enjoy the show. After a quick lunch we headed out to Sendosa Island. This involved getting onto a chair lift which proceeded to gain pace and then we were launched out over the tropical shrubbery below. Sorry folks that we have not contacted you earlier but have had terrible time with our mobile connection. Have left a message with Aunty Di this morning. Sorry Kristiaan. It is now 6.30 in the morning and already we are running around without our jackets on and are in shorts and tshirts. Weel after take off on Saturday and Endel scraping Barb down form the ceiling of the plane we had a wonderful flight over arriving at the hotel at approx 5.30pm. Yesterday we spent the morning at a gold factory looking at the most beautiful (and sometimes garish) jewellery. We then spent most of the afternoon on the 'Hop on, Hop off bus' (Yes that is what it is called) which is like our Melbourne tram that circles the city. We had lunch at Hooters ... read more
