Hello All I had a fantastic birthday yesterday as Laura, Lynette and I went on a sailing trip to Whitehaven Beach, did some snorkelling and then we had some drinks back on the island with a lovely big chocolate birthday cake. Hi All and welcome to the latest installment! I've been working on South Molle Island for a month now and having an absolutely great time. The island is so beautiful and the people i work with are great fun. Hi All I've got a new job on a lovely Island just off the east coast. It's one of the Whitsundays and it's called South Molle Island. See www.southmolleisland.com.au if you want to check it out. I'm working in housekeeping which is pretty damn hard in this heat and it's only going to get hotter as the australian summer starts! Hello All I've just finished 3 weeks working as a hostess on a private chartered boat in the Whitsundays and Great Barrier Reef!!!! It's a fishing boat and along with Laura our job is housekeeping, assist with cooking and generally be nice to the customers. We had our own cabin on the boat and got all food plus the chance to go fishing again. The rest of the crew were Marco & Lynn (owners), Todd (skipper and complete lunatic) and Matt the deckhand. Laura and i have split up- boo hoo and have now gone our separate ways. She's off to find work in Sydney and i'm going to party on down the east coast for a few weeks and generally be a travelling bum. On my way down on the greyhound bus i met Lizzie, a 20 year old nurse from Cheshire and we booked a white water rafting day on the Tully River which has Grade 4 Rapids. This week Laura and I did a 5 day open water scuba dive course and it was fantastic fun. i am now PADI certified to dive to 18metres - pretty scary huh?! The first 2 days were spent in a classroom and a swimming pool and getting to know the rest of the group. there were 19 of us learning and we all managed to pass the final exam on day 2 before heading to our boat on day 3. On our last day in Darwin we had a fun day just hanging round a hostel bar with some aussie blokes - they were doing forfeits because some of the guys hadn't made the 11am first drink round. the forfeit was 20 press ups at the pool in front of everyone and it was hilarious - everyone else thought tey were mad and Sean (the one in the green t-shirt in the picture) was absolutely awful at them! the evening was spent with a different group of aussie blokes who took Laura and I out for a really nice Indian meal [View Full Entry]

Alas, it is the end of our 4 week tour of western australia and northern territory and we have now said our goodbyes to the fantastic 007 wicked campervan which we have lived in for the last 28 days and travelled 6,500 kilometres! Hi All these weeks are just flying by - another week and another few towns in western australia. Arrived in Broome and it's lovely weather. Got ourselves sorted at a nice campsite and booked in for a few activities - camel rides at sunset and deep sea fishing!!
