| 16th October 2008 Julie | Mata Ortiz - From: Love the blog Millicent. One question on Mata Ortiz. I too thought it was poor and forlorn. Can anyone tell us more about why it is not, per Pauls comment. Thanks. |
| 15th October 2008 Mom & Dad | Our Best Wishes - From: Hi Melissa, Right now, you are somewhere over the ocean closer to England than to the USA. Really enjoyed reading your blog. You've spent a good deal of time relating your feelings and showing your excitement. We're looking forward to hearing about your big adventure. We love you, M&D |

| 14th October 2008 Weirdo Brother | Leaving - From: Hello Sis I had similar feeling when I went to Africa to see an solar eclipse, also with a stop over in London. As the day of departure got closer everything seemed more surreal. The mixture of fear and excitement in the face of the great unknown lead me to imagine being strapped into a roller coaster being pulled up that first big hill. The goodbyes and packing, oh look we are getting higher, the day of the flight, Oh look at the view. Being dropped off at the airport, oh I don’t know about this. Whhhhhaaaaaaaa! Then the uncomfortable 10 hour flight inside a aluminum can. I’m glad you are going on a trip and a bit jealous. I love to travel but been stuck in Denver a little to long. I’ve missed 4 eclipses in the last decade to some remarkable places. Australia, Antarctica, Turkey, Siberia. I pray that Edna and I can go to Japan next July. Have fun! Love you, Be safe, Come home. Weirdo Brother |
| 14th October 2008 anonymous | - From: Wow, I didn't realize you go home a week(ish) before the rest of us. Or maybe I did, and I just forgot. But I'm so glad you had such a great time traveling..I got a chance to skim your photos a bit, and they all look beautiful. Honestly, though, I haven't had time to look at hardly any pictures from anyone. I think that's going to be a Christmas break project. I can't wait for my next Marlie hug in three months! Keep updating when you can. <3 |
| 13th October 2008 Rob Byrne | Suitcase contents - From: Powerbars AND Toilet-in-a-bag! I'd say you're all set. Have a great trip - we'll be watching for updates. Rob & Chris |

| 9th October 2008 deleted_82180 | - From: If you were to steal madam, there would be no reason for me to continue living. We can buy a goat and stripe it with henna in C-ville. |
| 8th October 2008 Kacy | A gift! - From: I love and respect the fact that you are working hard to better the lives of people across the globe but I swear to God, if you don't bring me back that tiger-striped goat I will steal Madam |
| 8th October 2008 Little Mac | - From: I like that you wrote an entire blog just about dinner one night. I love you, dear. |
| 7th October 2008 Sasha | Helping out a little. - From: Nope, no 7-11's in Dhaka. For that matter, no Mcdonalds either. Or Taco Bell. Or Burger King. Or Dunkin Donuts. There was this pastry shop called 7-11 though. You might stumble across that if it still exists. |
| 7th October 2008 deleted_82180 | - From: I'm glad you're enjoying them. Bangladesh certainly offers many subjects worthy of anecdote. I plan to focus more on the positive aspects now that I'm comfortably settled and enjoying my time with beautiful people in this beautiful country. |
| 6th October 2008 Sasha | Ayo - From: Hmmm,,, nicely said. As I was reading this, I couldn't help but think" so true, so true".You know, all of these anecdotes are quite humorous, perhaps you should write a short book on all this stuff. It would make a good read. |
| 6th October 2008 deleted_82180 | - From: No 7-11's that I've seen, but maybe I'm not looking hard enough. |
| 6th October 2008 ryan and friends | security - From: Hey, don't know what I had to do but apparently I signed up for a blog in order to get security clearance to check yours. Not sure if mom figured it out, or your other loyal viewers. Kinda complicated to get signed up. Simon, RJ and Diane all say hi. This house looks nice, all vacation like. Keep it in mind for us if we ever make it down there. |
| 5th October 2008 Clark | Glad you're back - From: I was happy to read about your new home because the former was a clear disaster. You have a real gift for writing and your travel blog has been my favorite since its start. I spent a couple of weeks in Playa Flamingo diving a few years ago. Have you been to the wildlife preserve nearby where volunteers work? (if it's still there). Last winter, I had the lower floor of a duplex apt. between mal pais ( Badlands since you're working on your Spanish ) and the Cabo Blanco Nature Preserve , but it had a nice tile bath with hot water, and no ants inside since the plentiful iguanas in the garden outside ate them. Be sure that you and the children watch out for the crocs especially at this time of year as it's mating season for them and they can be extra aggressive and some are larger than 14 feet. |
| 3rd October 2008 Jack M. & Sam M. | Hi Cuzz - From: Hey Hans, Do you have a 7-11 in your town??? Is this where they get all there workers from? Keep up the Good Job and stay Worm Free.. Jack and Sam |
| 2nd October 2008 ryan | poolhouse - From: Is that a poolhouse in the background, or is that the house? I can't tell. It's the same color, and I know the house is small, but on the other hand, maybe its a small changing area for the pool? |
| 30th September 2008 Little Mac | - From: I'm glad you like this website! <3 HDM |

| 27th September 2008 Kira | Green... - From: Just had to say I LOVE to nice green curtains you've got...def a color you should keep in mind for the house...LOL!!!!! From the pics it does look like a really nice place to be living. I will be calling you when I got to Tennessee since mam and pap have a phone!! Love!! |
| 26th September 2008 Dad | Fuel - From: Gotta wonder what changing fuel filter would do. Coming from the states it should be kinda clean but wonder how clean Costa Rica fuel is? When I was at University Mechanical we had lots of problems with our trucks and 80% of our problems were loose or bad battery connections. Bouncing around off road made good connections rare. Assume surfer cut would be long :) |
| 25th September 2008 Lou | - From: Those lucky kids! |
| 25th September 2008 Emma Hill | - From: Diana, I am so happy that you are enjoying being back in France. I must admit I am very jealous thinking about all of the baguettes, crepes and french cheese that you'll be eating over the following months. I would love to come over and visit you some time if I get the chance. Also, you've got a place to stay if you would like to visit London again! Emma xxx |

| 22nd September 2008 Dinah | - From: I'm glad it's warmer there, babe, and that you're freakin' lovin' it. The best thing to do would probably be to NOT focus on leaving. Because then you'll freak yourself out. Not to sound too hippie or anything, but you've kinda got to live in the moment, I guess. And now I'm going to stab myself for saying that. Have a wonderful break! |

| 18th September 2008 Ryan | howdy - From: Hi Kim, Your dad sent me the link to your blog. Looks cool. Your photos make me miss Nice. What a beautiful area you're in! Are you familiar with Cinque Terre, one of my favorite spots in Italy? 5 little towns along the coast, you get a room in the first one and spend and afternoon walking the trail that connects them. Then there's a train to take you back to the first one. Cool little gelatterias and restaurants along the way. It's pretty close to Nice and Monaco. Check it out if you ever find yourself looking for a place to go. Happy travels... Ryan |
