After the carnage that was Cusco we made our way down to Puno in order to chill for a few days and visit the Lake! What with funds running a little low we decided to save a few pennies by taking the local bus rather than the tourist bus....About 7 hours into our 8 hour journey we're thinking "good choice this isn't bad at all" and then BANG BANG!!!! We touched down in Lima Airport at about lunch time and we were both shocked at the contrast between here and Brazil / Argentina. At last it felt as though we really were in the depths of SA! Although Lima is the capital of Peru it was very under developed compared to Rio and BA. We hopped in our taxi and feared for our lives.....the driving was mental. We arrived in BA with high expectaions after hearing such great things about it and we were not at all disappointed!!!! If anything it was under rated! We had such a fun fun time here, infact it was 24 hour party!!!! Having travelled here on a Carma bus (as demonstrated by Lyds in the photos) we were fully rested and rearing to go!!! Sorry it has taken so long to update the text but hear we go.... So we left Outer Mongolia, took a bus back to Rio and then attempted to book another bus for the mamouth journey to the falls but came across our first hic-up!!! Anna had had her card cloned and Lydia inputted her pin number wrong "3" times so we were stranded in Rio pennieless and worried......for about 5 mins but we managed to sort it all out, phew!!!! We left Rio yesterday (7th) in search of some Brazillian culture, beach, sun and in an attempt to try and save some cash - we took a 3 hour bus ride north to the coastal area of Buzios (look it up on Google its paradise)!! Anyway we arrived about 6 last night and got a taxi to our hostel.....we got there and we were the only guests in the whole place!! We eventually arrived at 17:30pm Brazillian times last night after a monster of a journey - 18 hours! We both had totally underestimated the length of it - we thought it was only 7 hours from Madrid - its was actually 10 and a half. The plane was really nice though - we got fed about 4 times and ....free bar!! Hello... We're now in the final plannning stages of our South America trip!! Anna & lyds on tour!
