Wow what a treat Camille and I decided to celebrate her upcoming divorce in the best way we knew how fun and sun Se we headed to CancunPlaya del Carmen Mexico. Before we left we spent about a month looking at different all inclusive sites. We knew we wanted to have a place that had 24 room service all inclusive and wai http://www.travelblog.org/North-America/Mexico/Quintana-Roo/Playa-del-Carmen/blog-391907.html Paris and Friends I have mentioned before that the biggest thing I am taking from my Paris experience is the friends that I made. I did not anticipate to make true friends that I will always cherish and keep in touch with for the rest of my life and I feel so fortunate to have made not one but many. I wanted to create a blog entry to share pictures of good times with many of them. http://www.travelblog.org/Europe/France/Ile-de-France/Paris/blog-387386.html South Africa So those of you who donrsquot know I decided to head to South Africa for the weekend lol. Ok so I was there for five days. Thierry and I had been talking about going to South Africa for a couple of months and when March rolled around and we hadnrsquot gone yet we decided we had better get our butts in gear. By the way having a fantastically nice roommate who works for Air France is wonder http://www.travelblog.org/Africa/South-Africa/Gauteng/Johannesburg/blog-387213.html Plane ride home from 6 months in Paris It has been a very long time since I have written. I have been holding off waiting for some good news of a job. Well I have lots of leads for jobs but nothing has come through yet but I am hopeful. I did manage to get a short consulting contract with UNESCO though and there are talks about another. Having said that I have not seen the contract yet and my ticket home came up first. The plan f http://www.travelblog.org/Europe/France/Ile-de-France/Paris/blog-387190.html Favorite things to do in Paris So now that I can say I lived in Paris for 6 months I am often asked what was your favorite thing. One of my favorite things to do in Paris is go to the Marais walk around and eat at my favorite falafel restaurant Lrsquoas du Fallafel. Mmmmm they are soooo good. The Marais is the Jewish and gay district of Paris and there are a number of really cute shops and most of the streets are cobble http://www.travelblog.org/Europe/France/Ile-de-France/Paris/blog-387144.html Foz do Iguazu Brazil Foz de IguazuThe falls in Iguazu were breathtaking We decided since we were so close we could manage the 56 hour drive to the east coast of the country head into Brazil and visit the Falls. It was so amazing and gorgeous. We had heard about taking a boat and getting dipped by the falls so we decided that we were going to do it. We thought it was going to cost us about 40 but we were wrong http://www.travelblog.org/South-America/Brazil/Paran-/Foz-do-Igua-u/Igua-u-National-Park/blog-361239.html Past trip to Paraguay Hello blog readers lol. In the summer of 2007 I travelled to Paraguay on a Canadian International Development Agency CIDA project dealing with sustainable tourism and private sector development. I wrote an entry for the trip a long time ago but had not started this blog yet. I have decided to post it to keep all of my travel blogs in one place. I don't have many pictures of Asuncion the http://www.travelblog.org/South-America/Paraguay/Asunci%F2n/blog-361237.html Museum D'Orsay and Les Invalides So like every first Sunday of the month I headed out to a museum I love free museum day hehe. I decided that I would finally go to Museum DrsquoOrsay because I keep talking about it and never do it. It was really nice. It was a good mix of sculptures and paintings and not as overwhelming as the Louvre. I arrived a little after ten and the line up to get in was just over an hour long. http://www.travelblog.org/Europe/France/Ile-de-France/Paris/blog-360113.html Holidays in Paris Another holiday season has come and gone. Merry Christmas Happy Hanukah and Happy New Year to everyone Even though I was not able to spend the holiday season with my family I was able to make is special. My friend Emilie who I work with at UNESCO is from Canada and did not go home for the holidays either. Additionally her high school friend Kieran who currently lives in Ireland decide http://www.travelblog.org/Europe/France/Ile-de-France/Paris/blog-359382.html Madrid for the weekend So I finally left Paris for a weekend My friend Mandy had her friend Daniel visiting from Canada and the three of us decided to go to Madrid for the weekend. It was really nice to get out of Paris for a bit. I was shocked however at how polluted Madrid was. I felt that I could taste the pollution in the air. After that and coming back to Paris I am really starting to miss the clean BC http://www.travelblog.org/Europe/Spain/District-of-Madrid/Madrid/blog-355901.html Christmas markets The interns at UNESCO decided to get in the holiday spirit the other day and we had a secret Santa get together. It was a fun time and started to get me in the xmas spirit. That night my friend Emilie and I decided to head to Champs Elysses and check out the holiday lights. Thierry recently got back from Japan and there was a sale on cameras. I decided to get a new one hence the better night s http://www.travelblog.org/Europe/France/Ile-de-France/Paris/blog-355903.html UNESCO and snow in Paris Hello helloI hope that everyone back home is doing well. I have mentioned before that I am working at UNESCO but I have not really gone into detail some of the things that I am doing. I was originally hired to edit documents that had been written in French and translated into English. However I am doing so much more than that. My first lsquoassignmentrsquo was to edit a document regardin http://www.travelblog.org/Europe/France/Ile-de-France/Paris/blog-350370.html My Apartment I thought that I would post some pictures of my apartment in case anyone was wondering what it looked like. I will preface that I feel that my apartment is not the norm especially for students in Paris. I have a quite large and new apartment. I definitely had a horse shoe up my butt when I found this place. I am very grateful for it and my wonderful roommate. I also decided to throw up some http://www.travelblog.org/Europe/France/Ile-de-France/Paris/blog-348571.html Paris work clubs country just living the life Wow it has been a very long time since I have wrote something.First off I will talk a little about UNESCO. I am officially an intern. I signed my contract and got my security clearance badge. The organization is interesting and I am really enjoying the experience. Sadly I am coming to the conclusion that I doubt I will get employment out of it but I am very thankful to have an insiderrsqu http://www.travelblog.org/Europe/France/Ile-de-France/Paris/blog-348549.html UNESCO and Euro Disney This Sunday will mark one month in Paris wow a month already. I have really enjoyed learning random facts about Paris. For instance it is illegal for a business in Paris to be open seven days a week. If a business wants to be open on Sunday it has to have a special permit and be closed on another day of the week. If a company is open on a Sunday without the proper permit it will be fined. http://www.travelblog.org/Europe/France/Ile-de-France/Paris/blog-338056.html Paris I have now been in Paris for three weeks. Things are going really good. I am starting to make friends and really enjoying the Paris culture. I am also learning quite a bit about the small things in Paris. For instance medical stops. My roommate works for Air France as a crisis specialist. Basically he helps people who have missed their connections or have some type of issue. The other nig http://www.travelblog.org/Europe/France/Ile-de-France/Paris/blog-336436.html Wandering around the city The first few pictures in the blog are from Lac Daumesnil in Bois de Vincennes. I looked on my map and found the biggest green space that I could find. This is only a small portion of the space but it is really pretty. The entire park covers 210 hectares. One of the things that I liked about the lake was all of the people that were jogging. I have found that in many of the green spaces peopl http://www.travelblog.org/Europe/France/Ile-de-France/Paris/blog-333173.html The Louvre I discovered that the on first Sunday of every month the Louvre is free. Considering I found this out three days before the first Sunday of October and I wanted to visit the Louvre I felt it only obligatory that I attend this Sunday. I decided to get up early and spend the entire day there. I packed a lunch had my camera good runners and I was ready to go. I was happy that I arrived earl http://www.travelblog.org/Europe/France/Ile-de-France/Paris/blog-331416.html Paris I have arrived in Paris France safe and sound. I am going to be here for 6 months give or take an excursion. I am looking forward to starting school and meeting some new people. I am attending INSEEC School of Business and finishing up my European Masters in Business EMBA. Hopefully once I am finished this when I return to Vancouver I can find a job that will satisfy my career and fina http://www.travelblog.org/Europe/France/Ile-de-France/Paris/blog-330435.html Home stretch Oh Canada Our home and native land What a great feeling to be back on home soil. It is amazing to go away to so many different countries and be put in a situation where you are basically lost all the time and end here in Canada. We had some scavenges to do here and when we went to the subway station you never had to ask people for help. You could just look confused and someone would come http://www.travelblog.org/North-America/Canada/Ontario/Toronto/blog-272740.html
