Meet Tony McCarver

Published: July 25th 2011North America » United States » Georgia » Smyrna

I’m Tony McCarver I’ve been married to my wife Marci for 35 years. We attend Orange Hill Baptist Church and serve together at Missions Resources International. I was saved at the age of nine and attended church regularly with my entire family. By my early teenage years I began to move away from the Lord. Marci and I were married in 1975. Marci didn’t attend church growing up and I was not walking with the Lord so He was not part of our lives. Through a series of events in my life God lead me to a pastor friend and I shared with him what was going on in my life. After sharing his first question was “Do you know Christ as your Savior”? I answered yes and he responded by saying that I needed to ... read more

From the first moment I heard about this trip, I knew that I had to go. I just could not shake the idea... You see this is my first mission trip. I'm not sure that I could have ever imagined that I would do something like this but with days away from our departure I can say I have never been more filled with anticipation. I feel honored to serve with this amazing group. My team is now like family and I am forever amazed how this very different group of people got brought together in this life. We each have such different talents, experiences and backgrounds and yet there is a common heart beat. It's a beautiful thing! Vining's Lake Church had a service a month or two ago about "Hineni" and it just confirmed ... read more

I live in Cartersville and attend Community Wesleyan Church. I have two children, 4 grandchildren, and two dogs. My daughter, April, and her two children, Courtney and Jake, live in Woodstock. My son, Brandon, and his two children, Jordyn and Skyler, live with me in Cartersville. I took my first short term mission trip in 2004 to the village of Dolval in Haiti. I will never forget the spiritual preparation and the God experiences I had on this trip. It was life changing! Mission work has become my passion, both foreign and community, and I travel at least twice a year on short term trips, with the hope that someday soon, I will be on the field full time. I have recently been working with MRI (Mission Resources International) in Brazil as a team facilitator. I ... read more

Meet Marci McCarver

My name is Marci McCarver and I have been married to my husband, Tony, for 35 years. I was not brought up in church and did not attend until after I was married for five years. Our sinful lifestyle of partying led to a lot of problems in our marriage. My husband, Tony, who was a Christian, had gotten far away from God but thankfully God never abandoned him. He realized his need to return to Christ and for us to go to church. After 6 months of attending church I heard a message on faith that was speaking directly to me. The pastor was saying belief in God is not based on our feelings but on our faith. And with faith as small as a mustard seed, God can do the impossible through you. That ... read more

Meet Suzy Edwards

I am Suzy Edwards, mother to three grown children and grandmother to four of the cutest grandchildren you have ever seen! A little background: My dad was a pastor of a church for most of my growing-up years, but he always wanted to be a foreign missionary. God never saw fit to open that door for him, but we had missionaries in our church and in our home all of the time. I guess my heart for foreign mission work was handed down to me from him. Also, as a side, my dad was in the Air Force (before he was a pastor) and we lived overseas as well as all over the United States - so add a little “wander-lust” in with the missionary background, and you see why I enjoy it so much.
