Hi everybody. Sorry has been a while since my last blog but have been on the move alot! Since I last wrote from the glacier we travelled through Narnia ( aka Arthurs Pass ). We had to wait 4 days for them to open the road due to a snow storm ( The town we were waiting in for this to happen was on flood alert and we were nearly evacuated!). So more freak weather for us. So far we have slept through an earthquake in Christchurch, a Tornado in Greymouth, seen an avalanche at Mount Cook and just escaped flooding [View Full Entry]

So we are now in the land of Kiwi's. We arrived at Christchurch as it was pouring with rain-where has the sun gone??!!! Thank goodness we had a very nice couple called Sue and Ron who took us in. ( Beths boyfs parents friends as i tried to explain to customs ). Customs was interesting as the sniffer dogs liked the olives we brought over and so had to declare them as well as processed cheese and walking boots-are they not supposed to be looking for drugs??? Sue and Ron were lovely. They cooked us roast dinners and lots of tasty [View Full Entry]

Currently in Sydney. Flying to Christchurch on sunday. Am actually really sad to leave Oz. At first we kept comparing it to Asia and just thought it was too much like England and full of chav English people...but it has grown on us! As you can see from the photos have seen lots more beaches and mountains. We had a fantastic trip to Frazer Island which is just one big sand dune with stunning lakes to swim in. Had a great group of english, dutch, danish, korean and american. The best was Tristan as we kept meeting up with him again [View Full Entry]

Have just been to heaven!!! Been to the south thailand beaches. Mainly on a lovely, secluded island called Koh Lanta. We stayed 6 whole days in one place. Lots of snorkling and swimming. We had to buy postcards because our photos dont quite show how beautiful it is. Hope you enjoy the pics and they make you jealous -he he!!!! Now back in Bangkok as our flight to Austarlia today. Yesterday was Beths birthday so we spoiled ourselves by shopping ( for 5 hours!!-everythinng so cheap-mum has another parcel of goodies coming!), then thai oil massage ( so nice after all [View Full Entry]

This is in Bangkok-all a bit too bling we thought
Hi everybody. Since i last blogged we have crossed the Cambodia-Thailand border-it took 14 hrs to get to Bangkok involving bumpy roads and bus which wasnt waterproof!!! It dropped us off in the backpacker district - Koh San road. We arrived at 930pm feeling knackered and had to wander from guesthouse to guesthouse for 2 1/2 hrs. ALL FULL! At midnight we decided the expensive hotel was very appealing and booked in-had free water and cotton buds and everything!! How the holiday makers live!!!. We had a random english guy called Rob stay with us too as also couldnt find a [View Full Entry]

Loving Cambodia

 Asia » Cambodia » North » Angkor
Angkor Wat
Angkor Wat
The biggest of the temples.
We have spent a week in Cambodia and loved it. The people here are just so lovely and friendly. The country is much cleaner than Vietnam which just had litter everywhere. Spent 2 days in the Capital, Phenom Penn. We hired tuk tuks who took us to the Khymer Rouge prison ( or tortue rooms) and the killing fields. Just horrific. Didnt take any photos as didnt seem right. We saw the monument of the dead which actually houses the skulls and bones dug up from the mass graves. You cant really explain the place in words. I dont think we [View Full Entry]

Lovely small harbour town
Since my last blog have been to Delat ( Central Vietnam mountains) and saw some amazing waterfalls. Was also shown around tea, coffee, mushroom and pineapple plantations. Great to see where it all comes from. We spent 2 days there before moving to our last destination in Vietnam, Saigon. We were warned we wouldnt like it here as bigger than Hanoi but we actually do. Not quite so dirty, less noisey motorbikes. A bit more civilised with good restaurants and bars. Tried snake wine-yuk! Tasted like watered down whiskey. Visited the market which was a bad idea as clothes so cheap [View Full Entry]
