So its been a year since I left Ireland to follow my dreams and travel the world. Since then I have been to North America, Fiji & Australia. I am still currently in Australia and just finished my 3 months fruitpicking to extend my visa for a second year. I never planned to stay in Australlia for longer than my first year visa which should run out on the 31st of July 2010. Leaving home I hoped I would come away and enjoy myself and then settle back into Ireland after my traveling was done. Now I feel more unsure than ever.. I dont know when I want to come home? All I know is that I want to travel Asia, New Zealand and South America before I return to Ireland for good. Keep reading to hear my travel plans for the future... :) x

Whit Sunday Coast Australia Town of 1770: We got the evening bus from rainbow beach and it took 5 hours to get too 1770. The bus drops you off at Agnes Waters, which is the sister town of 1770. They are 3km apart. 1770 is a small surfing town. We stayed in a hostel just outside town which had gorgeous grounds and a pool. Matt and Kara who we have been travelling with for a week now came with us and we all booked into the same dorm, which was a wooden cabin. We only stayed 2 days in 1770 as there is not that much to do and we were running low on cash. There is a tour you can do here for $50 called scooter roo. You rent a Harley Davidson type bike and ... read more
Sunshine Coast Australia! They don’t call it sunshine coast for no reason.. Its always sunny here.. and bluest of blue skies!!! First stop Mooloolaba- We didn’t really plan to go here initially but the guy in peter pan travel told us that if we book into the hostel here than we can get 2 nights accommodation and entry to Australia Zoo for $99...Zoo entry alone is normally $70, so it’s a good deal. So an hour north of Brisbane.. And we get off, the hostel is so nice. There is an English girl working behind the the desk and is very helpful. There is free body boards, surfboards, kayaks, pool, tennis and free brekkie every morning- You cant go wrong really… It’s a really seaside town absolutely gorgeous. I have already fallen in love with the ... read more
Byron Bay: 15th May-19th May So we leave Sydney at 6pm on Friday night for our 12 hour greyhound bus to Byron Bay. I’m so looking forward to finally getting up the coast. I have planned this for so long and it always got put back. We leave Kings Cross station and get the underground to Central station. Bye-Bye Sydney. There are hardly any backpackers on the bus so a lot of seats are free. Will moves back and takes 4 seats and I take 2 and go sleep. I had a really good sleep. (for once) So its 6:40am and we arrive in Byron. Our hostel is the Greenland Resort and we wait at the bus station for them to pick us up. Apparently it’s a little out of town like 45minute walk but ... read more
Melbourne 1st of May 2010-10th of May 2010 Left Red cliffs on Friday night the 30th of April never so happy to be leaving somewhere as I was to leave the hostel. We finished up work today for our boss Carlo, who was really nice and we sorted him out with two other backpackers to fill our places. We packed up our stuff booked accommodation in Melbourne and headed for the 10pm bus. It was a 9 & ½ hour bus journey. Jumped on the bus and there was a old drunk man sitting in our seat numbers, we told him that 43&44 were our seat numbers he refused so got the bus driver down and he asked for his ticket. He handed it over and apparently he was seat 41... so annoying he had ... read more
Great Ocean Road- 4th May-7th May 2010 The road goes along the coast from Melbourne-Peterborough. So we left the hostel at 10.00am in search of a car rental company. We found a private company and they offered us a small little car for $200.00 for 2 days and we would have to leave a $500.00 deposit. We walked down Franklin street and came across more car rentals I went into all of them for a quote and Europcar offered the best deal for 3 days unlimited mileage for a manual economy it was $105.00 so we went for this.. it was a small Hyundai Getz wouldn’t be my choice of car now by any means but it was brand new and small so we took it. We were given the keys and sent down to their ... read more
Fruit Picking in Australia.. So a lot of people will tell you there best time in Australia was fruit picking in the outback. Well I guess everyone’s experience is different! When Josie Claire and I arrived in “the outback” our little village called Redcliffs freaked us out completely...Coming from the HUGE city of Sydney and living in the famous Kings Cross the suburb that never sleeps everything open 24 hours a day...we were let’s say definitely shell shocked. Our new home for the next 3 months was two streets in total. One of which had more than 5-6 shops that were shut down. “Red cliffs” named after the red cliffs that line the murray river which borders the two states of Victoria & New South Wales. For those of you who know me this village ... read more
BULA BULA BULA! (Pronounced Boo-lah) ! FIJI TIME! MONDAY 13TH JULY (leave LA) 10hour flight and 2 days later we arrive in FIJI! YAY! Wednesday 15TH JULY found awesome adventures in the airport and we booked our 14days “bula pass” which is a boat pass for 2 weeks of Island hopping through the yasawa and mamanuca island group of about 30 islands.... Emma had already booked 3 nights for us on Waya island, Octopus resort and I had booked 2 nights on beachcomber island resort. So we got a free shuttle bus to port denarau to catch the “yasawa flyer” which is the huge catamaran boat to the islands. How it works is you have 14days to hop between any of the islands and you choose what resorts you want, only one hop per day. The ... read more
Los Angeles July 10th-13th We only booked 3 nights in LA because of all the bad reviews we heard from people, we didn’t want to waist our time there if it was horrible! We got the greyhound bus from santa fe station in san diego to the LA station. It took 2 and half hours. There were alot of weird people on the bus, I just kept my sunglasses on and went to sleep! Arrived at the station at 8pm. It was dark and we were in downtown LA. SCARY!! There were homeless people, bums and rough people everywhere. We crossed the street to get the bus 33 to venice beach. Two Mexican rough looking men came over to us shouting “white girls white girls, u need taxi?” U know where u going etc... We just ... read more

Las Vegas BABY!!!!!!!! 22nd-27th June 2009-06-29 Monday 22nd We left Miami at about 4:15pm to go to the airport. Nick, who we had made friends with in the hostel brought us to Miami airport instead of us having to get 3 buses to get there and then the tri-rail(train) to fort Lauderdale airport to fly out! It only took about 15minutes to get there, we said our good-byes and off we trotted to find our train. 5:10pm tri rail came we hopped on with our now SERIOUSLY heavy backpacks. Few minutes past and we all realised there was no air conditioning on the train and it was 40 degrees outside, sweat was drippin off everyone. Fort Lauderdale is about 7 stops from Miami...we were 2 stops away when the driver came on over speaker saying there ... read more
